I'd second that, I use XP Pro and XP Pro 64bit on all my machines and I'm not familiar with Win7 at all...

Maybe somebody has some tips for us dinosaurs...or maybe we have to bite a bullet and switch to w7

Hello.... After making these changes and testing my internet connection speed after restarting, it seems to have been cut in half.....meaning 1/2 as slow .

I am def not super technical but I followed the directions.

Any common reason this may have happened?

New development....after making all of the changes as directed in this post and NOT restarting (after it ask if you want to restart now I hit cancel) my internet speed is super fast and I posted on sb faster than ever before.

Its is only AFTER I restart that my connection speed gets cut in half.

So I guess the question is does anyone know which setting(s) in the TCP software require the restart to take effect? I'll just keep these the way they were and go on from there.

This would be ridiculously helpful b/c of the time it will take to change each setting individually and restart to see what happens.

Thanks a million times over to anyone who has ANY advice where to start.

Great to hear you were able to figure out the issue. I will try looking into the settings and find which ones require a restart. I do believe however that the majority of these changes require a reboot on the local machine.

I assume these changes won't make any different to people on a VPS?

I ask, because I made the necessary changes and if anything, there seems to be fewer successful posts compared to normal. This of course could be down to the list (I use private proxies) that I'm posting to.

i have made these changes on xsserver vps ($25) and saw amazing result. If I started to get some lag, I just restarted the vps and then run sb again after that

However thanks for this guide - it has to be really time consuming as i have seen some microsoft tc/ip guides and they are all 50+ pages long.

I have 2 laptop. In one laptop I use windows 7 and in another 1 I use Mac US 10.6.5 . Is there any way to optimize my network. I use WiMAX Internet.

thanks, now what do i do with my router disconnecting every 2 hours because of sb and sb freezing cause of it

Muchacho,

Users here and in IRC have reported significant improvement after applying these changes on their VPS. Try reducing your maximum connections until finding a happy median that works best with your system. Please report back with your results or any issues!

Unfortunately, I do not plan on creating a guide for Mac OSX. Mostly due to the fact I gave away my Macbook over two years ago. You may try researching online for TCP/IP optimization guides for Mac OSX, you should find some helpful information in assisting you in making the changes. As for Windows 7, you can follow my guide and will see significant improvement over your current settings.

Nigunim,

Now that you have removed your Operating System as the bottleneck, the next in line are the Network Adapter and Router. While I have no written a guide for optimizing those components (yet, It's a large amount of work). You may want to try temporarily disabling any setting related to DDoS protection on your network router. This should only be temporary and immediately restored after you finish use with Scrapebox. Another issue may be related to the default maximum connections set inside the router firmware, this is a bit more advanced and will not go into detail here. If you feel comfortable with networking, you can look into DD-WRT, Open-WRT or Tomato router firmware for customization of these options. Otherwise, you should reduce your Maximum Connections setting until finding one that will not cause your Network Adapter/Router to drop packets.

Thanks, i would appreciate more info on the router when you have time, you kinda flew over my head with that.

Please not all folks, while I did see about 20% more from SB after this, xrumer I was able to double my speed after these changes so, great post!

Also don't forget about the window click trick in scrapebox , improved my harvesting rate by 200%
Just click on the top of the scrapebox windows for a few seconds and you will see.

Click your mouse on the top blue bar for 10-20 seconds(without letting it go up) at the left of the maximize icon.
you will notice some difference

By the way you could use some toothpicks to block the mouse. lol

The changes I've outlined in my post are not meant to increase success rate. They are used to enable the ability to increase concurrent connections thus allowing faster posting time while maintaining the success rate. After making the changes you should increase your maximum connections by small increments until finding a setting that works best without causing high failure rate.

I just loaded all of these setting on my VPS and all I have to say is THANK YOU!!!

I am burning the same lists and my fast poster has almost doubled its success rate! As you walked us through all the steps it really helped me to understand how SB functions with your hardware and that is worth its weight in gold
