    Hi BHW,

I need your suggestions for promoting a House DJ, who is also producing own tracks. The DJ has allready since 2 years about 2-3 monthly gigs (in his country ) and the Event-Attendees like him pretty much - or some of them even like his fanpage.

I appreciate every ideas to promote him europe-wide (or even world-wide)

I am promoting a dj from past few months

soundcloud , the best for any dj , they have a limited timframe to upload songs like 2 hrs maybe and then for more space u have to pay

This is by far the best i came across promoting DJ's , combine this with youtube , Facebook and twitter

Right now the soundclound pages are ranking for a lot of keywords even above his website

If you have any more tips feel free to share

    Best regards

Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, plus tell him to make few sessions in the mix and post it on first 20 house music / house mixes sites in google. One small site would be good to have so all links and downloads are on one place, looks more professional and instead of promoting few tracks you can start making a brand of his name (Like Carl Cox, D.Guetta etc) in the long run...

Forgot to mention soundcloud, very good, targeted group of DJ's, producers and music lovers. Free account is ok but for 39 a year you get more downloads and minutes to put online, in combination with links there and all other places mentioned you can generate big buzz about his name, buzz that makes people to want to hear new stuff because they already know his name.

I would do it by cities that they wanted to work on. Always go local with keywords that require them to stay local. If they are open to going to other locations then you could target some broad, general keywords.

If you haven't noticed it already, people are shoving you off because you are not demonstrating understanding of SEO. You need to generate textual content that will lure people in from search engines.

If I were you, I would try something like writing lots of spun articles analyzing the elements of free mixes you would offer for download.

Make that in multiple languages, even.

Well you could make some mixes and maybe send them to online radios playing house and alikes. For his own tracks i would submit them to local radio stations if they have some shows where they play some music from new artists, demos, and some lesser known genres. If you have website for him or atleast on fanpage maybe you should take some pictures of the places he has been playing and post those images on his fanpage. I think it will look good for the people who arrange the DJ for the clubs.

These are what i would do atleast + ofc what have mentioned before.

Well when it comes to promoting musicians, social networks is the word. I mean, google+, facebook, twitter, digg even myspace. Get all over the place.

And most important, get on youtube, because most people will search for music on youtube.

Also develop some trendy official website. Its pretty much a MUST.

Make a FB page. Promote it. Release mixes there!

Many DJ's are doing this only.
