How to: search BlackHatWorld

While you're new to the forum, you'll find that we often tell you to read around and add your questions to existing threads wherever they are relevant. But how do you find the right sub-forums and threads? Of course, you can browse the forums list but if there is something specific you're looking for, the search bar is your friend.

So how do you use the BHW search to get the most out of it? Allow me to show you.

When you click the word 'Search' in the top right hand menu, a box of options will appear. This is what it looks like if you're on the home page:



You have the option to search for subjects or people and you can specify if you want to search titles only.

It looks slightly different if you're already in a sub-forum:



You'll see that a drop-down menu titled 'Everywhere' has appeared in the search bar. By clicking on this, you can specify if you only want to search Everywhere, Threads, or This Forum.

Both versions of the search box include the Search and Advanced Search buttons. As you might expect, if you click Search it will take you to the results that match your search term and any criteria you have set.

Clicking the Advanced Search will give you many more options across the top:



From here you can search everything, threads, profile posts, or tags. Each tab has a range of options and allows you to be much more specific about what you are searching for.

And that's it! So go forth and hunt for the answers to all of your IM and SEO questions. If you find that your question hasn't been answered anywhere on the forum yet, feel free to create a new thread.

So what if you simply want to do an uncomplicated search? What if you simply go to the main search bar at the top of any screen and type in "make money with pinterest"? That should get you the desired results. The methods you describe are best when you have an idea of a specific thread or author you are interested in.

It looks slightly different if you're already in a sub-forum:

You'll see that there are a couple more options. You can specify if you only want to search that specific forum, and you can choose to display the results as threads.

Both versions of the search box include the Search, More and downward arrow buttons. As you might expect, if you click Search it will take you to the results that match your search term and any criteria you have set.

Clicking on More will take you to the Advanced Search, where you have many more options:

The downward arrow brings up Useful Searches:

These are some of the things people are most commonly looking for, so you might find that they come in handy.

And that's it! So go forth and hunt for the answers to all of your IM and SEO questions. If you find that your question hasn't been answered anywhere on the forum yet, feel free to create a new thread.

Here I was thinking that the search box was completely useless on BHW... amazing!

Yes you can. You just have to write their username at the 'Posted by Member' field.

Its a bit out of topic but how I remove these from chrome?

Press the down arrow key until the desired entry is highlighted and then press shift+delete.

Ctrl+Shift+Del > Advanced > 'Check Autofill form data' (and uncheck the other options) > Clear browsing data.

You can't ask to be hired in the HAF section.
Once you upgrade to a Jr.VIP, Marketplace seller or Premium, you will be able to reply to/accept jobs posted by other members in the HAF (Hire a Freelancer) and WTB (Want To Buy) sections.

the information in BHW is super huge. i think i dont know if there is a guide to help new guys not get overwhelmed. i mean where to start after reading the newbie guides.
