How to Recover The Google Medic Update ?

There's no "concrete" way of recovering from a broad algorithm update.

Thanks for all the advice Jesus. I've made a few changes (had to look up a majority of what you said due to having rather limited knowledge). I've updated our CDN, optimised our caching settings, created new pages for our policies so Google can actually read them and re-optimised our images.

When it comes to the W3C standards, I'm not 100% sure what i need to do. All the code which i see on the validator is written by either our plugins or the theme. Where do i have to go to make the changes it's recommending?
Also, i have no idea what i need to do for the Schema markup.

I've only been doing this a year and got threw into the deep end with little to no training. Our sites used to be in the top 5 for almost every relatable keyword to with our company and now we aren't even showing on Google. I've been told to remove medical terminology (which we can't do due to the nature of what we do), I've been told to re-write all the content on our sites to match what Yoast wants (which i've done with no results), I've removed as much duplicate content as possible (again with little result). Apart from Google retracting this update or creating all new websites which match everything i've told, I'm at a complete loss for what i need to do to get us back to where we were.

Nice share Jesus, I will also like to add more basics points:-

1. Trying to add more authenticate and long content with includes some research study, images and videos
2. Also work the different traffic source other than Google like- Yahoo, Bing, Fb, IG, TW and health forums
3. Make some good healthy quality links
4. Work on the bounce rate, must be below than 60%

And lots of work is required other than this, 100 of factors are there now, especially for medical sites,

Just gonna share what actions helped with one of my projects which lost 60% of traffic (still 20% less then it used to be):
1. Fully updated About Us and Contact pages
2. Made an in-depth article about each author (the site has 6 regular ones)
3. Disavowed a bunch of irrelevant links
4. Redeveloped text layout (added more headings and structured data)
5. Now working on building more relevant links
