How to prepare for the bitcoin crash

Yeah people waiting for a BitCoin Crash for ages now. Everytime it goes down a bit price goes up 2-3 times. Plus lots people waiting for next crash so they could buy coins for cheaper. So I don't know if a big time crash ever gonna happen.

JPMorgan say that bitcoin is run on the " greater fool " principal, you need a greater fool to buy from you. It's going the same way as tulips, tea and the internet bubble many of the youngsters won't remember

And thats the right time to buy a lot of them, the next bitcoin bubble will bring them to $50k or even $100k each

Many involved refuse to see the crash coming, like they did with tulip bulbs, and we know what happened there lol!

The only reason its going up is because of the MEDIA attention its been getting past month , everyone trying to jump in it , its becoming like a ponzi

People, don't get me wrong, I have nothing against BTC, I love the technology and it is here to stay but you have be realistic and as people are treating it as an investment you need to apply economics.
The price will continue to rise, and if you sell now make a decent profit this will help the price rise further, but eventually this bubble will colapse.

"Bitcoin's price is skyrocketing because of high demand and low supply."

"Prices can keep climbing as long as there are more buyers than sellers."

“There is nothing to support bitcoin except the hope that you will sell it to someone for more than you paid for it.”

Is not that exactly how everything in this world works? Your stuff is only worth something if there is somebody willing to buy it from you at that price, why do people say that like it only applies to bitcoin?

You can just as easily find articles saying it's not a bubble. Here's a couple of minutes of Googling:

Point is no one truly knows. Make your bets or don't. No one is forcing anyone to invest. But claiming Bitcoin is a bubble is the same as claiming Bitcoin will replace all fiat. It's all speculation and a speculative investment, proceed accordingly. The market will decide the rest.

EDIT: Also, a correction (which most people believe will come and is par for the course for a healthy market) is not the same as a bubble burst/market collapse.

Here is how to deal with bitcoin:

1. Buy bitcoin only with money you can afford to lose

2. As the price rises, cash out your original investment with a small profit

3. Hold on to the rest and keep cash out a bit from time to time

To be sure, the authors focused on the stock market in their study, not crypto-currencies. But I nevertheless am confident that their conclusions apply to bitcoin too, since they analyzed nearly a century’s worth of historical data, both in the U.S. and in foreign stock markets as well, and found broadly similar conclusions regardless of the time period or the country.

They furthermore were unable to find any evidence that the probability of a crash was dependent on any fundamental factors. That’s a crucial detail, since many of bitcoin’s true believers insist that the fundamental case for bitcoin is unique, and that therefore historical precedents don’t apply. Yet every prior bubble was accompanied by similar claims of historical uniqueness. (Can you say “dot-com bubble”?)

It’s often said that the four most dangerous words in investing are “this time is different.” Bitcoin investors in particular should not forget that.

As I said, Crypto is here to stay. and the technology is fantastic and has amazing potential.
Will BTC be the leading coin in 5/10 years? Who knows? Another coin may replace it, or BTC will be universally accepted at this stage it is anybodies guess.

But we are definitely in a bubble ATM, it does not mean that if BTC crashes it will then disappear, it will bounce back eventually but if I had substantial investments in BTC then I would look to be selling a percentage with every price increase.
I would keep 20-30% invested but I would look to take profit out now with a view to re-investing when the price falls.

IMO BTC will only start to achieve it's full potential when people stop treating it as an investment as the volatility is hampering the take up of businesses treating it as a currency and payment option.

This is only my view and as I no longer have any BTC my opinion can be ignored.

We can all see it coming so better prepare for it.

With CME launching futures in btc in just 16 days from now, I doubt the big crash will be anytime in near future. Odds are against it.

CME to launch bitcoin futures in three weeks after green light from regulator:

I wish btc was available for "physical" purchase only, not trading.
Speculators make the price jump like crazy.
