How to make my first sale ?

make a community in FB page ... show some attractive poster to them it ill help you

Honestly, I would use the templates as freebies and build a list of job seekers, then promote employment/work at home offers/products and bank.

I can't really see too many people paying for resume templates, but hell, I've even surprised myself with some of the shit I've sold.

Anyway, that's what I would do.

Have you done KW research if its worth it than you should probably focus on ranking your website. I assume the CPC is high for your niche so advertising might not make that much sense.

Perhaps offer a basic freemium resume template to reel people in, and then leave out some juicy features that only 'upgraded' members can take advantage. In addition, you can also do upsells and back-end sales on related products & services such as offering to write their resume if they don't want to, proofreading services, editing, resume submissions service, job tips & self-help books and so on. There's a lot of great potential for revenue in this market and many people need help in this competitive job marketplace.

Also, I don't know where you live, but most areas (at least in the U.S.) have a workforce center where all people do is sit around all day and look for jobs. This would be a great place to strike up some prospects! Also you can try working with some folks at your local colleges or highschool grads needing help with their resume and presentation. And finally, the locally library billboards and flyer desks can be a great place to market your niche.

Thats some nice explanation . I feel like my problem is marketing. I have made quite good websites and graphics designs , but since there is no marketing i do fail ! I think its better to hire someone to get the job done !

Seems your approach there has been "Build it and they will come" (with the exception of ordering that fiverr service that delivers SE traffic, which is undoubtedly flase).

You need to market it - rank for some keywords, post in some forums where people would need them, get in front of your audience.

If I were you I would try to grow a LinkedIn community for that project.

Your homepage claims 250+ templates but your inventory is much much lower.

The 150+ number looks made up, use a constantly growing non-round number above 500.

Your testimonials look fake. Add reviews to each resume.

I would make the discounts larger as a percentage and I would not discount all resumes and might consider adding a few basic but valuable templates for free.

And most importantly, I'm not sure what percentage of people are willing to purchase such templates, so doing what Sythix suggested sounds like a really good idea.

You can also look for job seeking communities, forums and websites and you can provide them with special promo codes that would give huge discounts on the templates dropping them to 1-3$. If your ads are getting good engagement, but no conversions, the problem is likely to be with your product or your pricing. I think you should price lower and expand the product selection significantly, but I'm coming from the point of view of a person who wouldn't pay for something like that anyway.

I would decrease the number of menu items.

Don't do the double exclamation points, remember you are marketing a professional service for professional people.

I hope this helps, but keep in mind I'm not that qualified to give you advice so take what I've written with a grain of salt. :)

Also don't buy important services on fiverr.

What you can buy from fiverr is a bit of social proof which will add more authority to your website.

After Googling "resume templates" the first 7 spots offer free templates. One site even boasted over 280+ free templates.

If I were looking for a resume template I would prefer a free one as opposed to paying for one.

That said.

I feel your best bet would be selling the site on flippa. Offer it like a money making opportunity.

Pitch it as a site that has the potential to making a lot of money given that there are so many people without jobs.

If you are still bent on building it up. I would join as many job seeking facebook groups and pages on facebook and pitch templates like crazy.

Don't know what your price point is but if you pitch them at $5 each you should be able sell some if you put in the hustle.

But again if I were in your position I would just flip the site on flippa

Build another one

Wash rinse and repeat.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I have removed the numbers now. I will do discounts also even more, and add lots of free resumes too.

Why it is required to remove some resumes ? Also what do you mean by double exclamation points ?

Thanks again. Cheers:drinking2

Why it is required to remove some resumes ?
Not remove the resumes but don't make all the resumes discounted. It decreases the psychological effect of the discount. Either add a big banner saying, all templates discounted till [3 days from today] or discount just 30% of the templates and keep the more specialized ones undiscounted. It gives a sense of urgency and fickleness and gives the impression the discounts can go away any day now.

Also what do you mean by double exclamation points ?

I mean something like "Get your resumes now !!" which should be "Get your resumes now!" with no space...

Thanks again. Cheers:drinking2

Cheers and good luck with selling.

The Facebook group idea is very good btw.

I'm thinking the same way others here are thinking why would I pay for the templates when I can go else were? The main point is what are you offering that others arent? The ultimate goal of your potential customer is getting a job so how is your template going to help me get a job? Have your templates produced good results before or are they designed in such as way to psychologically attract its readers into them?

You should think about these questions and try to answer then you should promote your products with the potential customers ultimate goal in mind. Its not about you making a sale its more about them getting that job or getting noticed.

Short Answer:

  1. Made few ad campaigns in google, facebook ( But still no sales)
  2. Ordered a google search traffic from fiver.( But still no sales)

It's because of they two you bought, fiver is not going to give you real traffic.
Google and fb is not going to as well because you don't know what you're doing, I suggest you go more in-depth in targeting and optimizationf or ads.
