How to make money as web developer

With your frontend strengths in React, Next.js and TypeScript, you’re definitely in a good spot to start turning that into income. Starting out with smaller freelance projects or simple productized services can help you get momentum and once you’ve got that, it will be much easier to grow into bigger opportunities.

I am 22 year old web developer. I've learned everything by myself, watching tutorials and building projects. I have more expertise on the frontend side, but I know backend aswell, but just not as good as frontend. I can also make wordpress sites, aswell as using headless CMS with payload. I've used the last years just improving my skills and building projects for fun, but I havent't made any money from it. Is there any good way to make money. Doesn't necessarily have to be just web development, but my skills are mainly web development related like react, nextjs, typescript etc.
You're in a great position with solid frontend skills (React, Next.js, TypeScript). Since you've already built projects, now it’s time to turn that into income. Freelancing, Affiliate websites, Build and sell templates, Micro-SaaS, Agencies need subcontractors

I was in a similar spot last year — strong frontend skills but not much income. What worked for me was using those skills to build quick landing pages and niche sites, then monetizing with affiliate links or ads. It’s faster to start earning that way than chasing big dev contracts.

One tip from experience: once you run multiple projects or test ads/accounts, it gets messy. That’s where an antidetect browser (adspower, dolphin ant...find the best one) and ai tool helped a lot — it keeps accounts separated and manageable. Not essential at the start, but useful if you scale.

My advice: pair your dev skills with a monetization model (affiliate, SaaS micro-apps, templates, etc.) and use the right tools to handle the “marketing” side. That’s when money starts coming in.

You already know a lot about React, Next.js, and TypeScript, so you could start freelancing on sites like Upwork or Fiverr, or even make niche templates, themes, or tools to sell on marketplaces. If you want to do more than just client work, think about making money through SaaS side projects, teaching content, or WordPress/Headless CMS solutions for small businesses.

I’m ready to make a purchase. Could you please guide me on how to proceed?

I’m interested in your service—would it be possible to test it with a short trial?

I’d like to purchase. Could you please share a few samples before I proceed?

Are there any ongoing promotional offers or discounts I could take advantage of?

Freelancing platforms like Upwork or Fiverr are a solid way to start getting paid gigs.

I have been trying upwork for like a month now and don't really so a lot of progress there, as I have been hitting up clients aswell. Maybe I just need some patience and wait for them to contact me? You have any tips on freelancing on upwork?
You need to be patient and always keep an eye on the new jobs. Accept some small jobs with low revenue first, just to build a good reputation, then you'll start getting invitations. That's how I started ;)
