How to get this result?

Hi everyone! I came across this type of website while analyzing a customer's backlink profile. I understand that this is cloaking as loading the page using Google's mobile-friendly test results in a completely different page being viewed.

How do you think it was made? I would like to replicate this on some blogs I own.

I've noticed that practically all pages that behave like this end with a "k".

For example:

-http://bugmundo.com/auguri-buon-anno-personalizzati-k.html

I can't see such behaviour. It's an HTML site on the HEAD I only see very basic js scripts and nothing more.

Can you explain more thoroughly?

Basically what they are doing is presenting a different site for Googlebot smartphone server side.
You can do this through HTACCESS. You only need to indicate the referrer header like when you block through robots.txt all those typical crawlers like Ahrefs, MJ bots an so.

For example you can use this code in .htaccess

Code:

RewriteEngine on

RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} ^Google$
RewriteRule ^ - [F,L]

I have not tested and probably it may not work, you should research a little bit more with the indications I'm giving you, but this is the way to proceed. If your site is in PHP you can do this also a little bit more easily directly in the code (I know these are doing this server side, because they are loading an HTML file, sole this cannot be done through scripting)

With PHP it's easier because you can use the header function.

Thank you! I understand the working mechanism. In reality, however, I believe that some wordpress security hole is being exploited to generate this content without the knowledge of the site owners. My suspicion stems from the fact that I've also encountered this behavior on other domains with wordpress.

I also say this because if I need to create 2.0 websites to get backlinks, why should I hide it from users or competitors and only show it to Google, also risking a penalty? It seems more likely to me to do so, as I intend to exploit the authority of a domain that is not mine and that I don't care about in case I should have such a penalty.

This is a very primitive setup. It'll probably be taken down quickly.

First thing to note is you shouldn't be able to tell the safe/landing pages apart. If you got a letter k in there for one, and not the other, then you're revealing the setup and it's no longer cloaked.

In fact, what I notice is that many of these pages last a few days and then disappear. My question is: why is this technique used, what advantages can it bring and above all how is it possible to implement it?

Probably churn n burn

They need enough ROI in the few days it stays up

Then throw domains away and restart anew
