How to get more impressions on youtube?

Hello everyone!

Started my youtube automation journey last month, uploaded 11 videos so far, got 180 organic views in total (90% from search)

I got a team of experienced people that have worked in my niche before, and I can say that my videos are in much higher quality than other competitors that are doing quite well

However, my problem is not the views, it's the impressions. For some reason I get just a few impressions.. averaging about 100 per day

One buddy of mine who just started his journey (taught him everything I know) makes almost a thousand impressions per day (he's in a different niche)

Then another guy who I know posts more rarely than I do and he averages between 6k-60k impressions per day.. I think youtube hates me or something

What can I do in order to increase my impressions?

However, I want all the views to be organic, not through external sources

external sources are not a bad thing, if someone is looking for your video topic on google and find the video there you dont want that kind of traffic? the traffic that comes from reddit is as organic as it gets, real people who are interested in your video will click and watch it

I get your point

But this can affect my avd on the long run most probably

Perhaps most of the successful cash cow channels owners never relied on this, as they achieved their success within the platform (youtube), thanks to the organic reach

This will not have ANY negative effect, the opposite is true. reddit users are real humans who engage with content if they find it interesting, same as if you post to facebook \ twitter. Those are GOOD ways to increase ORGANIC traffic.
As per getting your videos recommended, if you dont start putting in some work on SEO posting your content in various sites and social medias your chances of success are very low, to get your content ranked it needs to be found first, EVERY big youtuber ALWAYS share their videos to social media.

maybe your friend is getting more impressions because his niche has a bigger audience than yours. the bigger the audience the more impressions you will get. if you videos keep getting views from search then at some point youtube will give you a push in the browse features...
also quick tip. never start your titles with "how to" or you will increase the probability of never getting push from algo.

Engage with your audience on the platform. Make sure to ask questions in your video for people to comment on.
Authenticity.
Be Consistent.
Create Quality Video Thumbnails and Titles.

His niche is education. I am not sure if his audience is wider.. but yeah. I am in the tech niche

Most of my views are search based but the niche (actually the sub-niche I'm in) is VERY VERY recommended based

Do you think the category I select when I upload the video is important? I always choose entertainment
