Hey everyone,

I am new to SEO and currently trying to understand how link building actually works in a safe, white hat way.

Most of what I see online is either outdated or feels too aggressive, and I do not want to risk doing something that could harm my site in the long run.

Right now I am focusing on content, but I am confused about when and how to start building links properly.

For those who have done it the right way:

How did you get your first few backlinks?
Did you focus on outreach, guest posting, or just let content attract links naturally?

I would really appreciate any beginner-friendly advice or real experiences!!

Getting links naturally is the best way but how do you get links naturally when no one sees your content in the first place? So yeah consider doing outreach and guest posting too. Alternatively you can post your content on social media and hope for viral post.
 
Master your on-page SEO, then worry about the rest.
Start by building social links, if the product is valid and well marketed, traffic will come by itself.
If you need more backlinks, I'd consider buying them. Or learn how to get backlinks through the same automated tools agencies use (they'll probably be low-mid quality though)

start simple bro dont overthink, first make few good quality posts then try basic outreach like finding small blogs in your niche and ask for guest post or link insert, you can also do profiles and some niche directories just keep it clean not spammy, in start even few real links is enough, also share content on social or communities to get some natural links, main thing is go slow and look natural dont blast links.

I'll be #controversial. Forget building links. Your not meant to build them (according to google). You don't have time in all honesty. The best sites in your niche, that you need to link to you will, and will do on only one condition. Your site is good and has good content. Therefore if you spend all your time on making sure your site is better than the rest, then you will be able to go beyond them in traffic and earnings. Maybe or more accurately certainly not at the start, but business's are built over years, not weeks and months. Make your site known for its good quality content. Not its link strategy.
