My big question is not so much HOW to do backlinking, but how OFTEN do you have to do regular SEO?

I mean sure, everyone says write an article, spin it, submit, blast with links from Scrapebox etc etc

But they never say how often this has to be done. Is this a once off? Does it depend on how competitive the first page is?

Because I can't find any conclusive data in my own experience. Will you not just stick on page 1 unless you work at it for months? Anyone got any case studies, especially for new domains and sites?

Once every few days til #1 than once a week typically.

They don't tell you how many times, because it all depends on the competition. If the competition is easy, then maybe just a few. If the competition is hard, then lots of times until you rank. There is no way to know how long it will take, though you can take educated guesses.

"Local" SEO isn't so magically easier form of SEO. It is simply referring to focusing on keywords with specific geographical locations in them; e.g. "New York Dentist". "Dentist" is a broad KW, but "New York Dentist" is a local KW :) And "New York Dentist" might also be extremely competitive - in fact I'm willing to bet it probably is.

Wouldn't mind some more input on this...

So typically, most people do SEO every few days and that gets them to number 1 for non competitive keywords?
