How NOT to do keyword research in 2017

Some great points and a good inspiration for those who keep delaying things due to the complex nature of competition analysis.

Nice piece of advice, I would have paid to get this when I started SEO

Well, if you got any cash laying around I'll be starting a WSO any day now ;)

Gay intergalactic midget spinner, my favourite childhood toy. Lovely times.

Thanks for this! Very helpful information. Index request in Google Search Console after the fetch? I assume yes, that's what I did. Newbie question, probably.

why you recommend using indexing via google webmasters tools? FOOTPRINT

why you recommend using indexing via google webmasters tools? FOOTPRINT

In order to stop waiting for indexing and see results and if something needs to be done better faster.

I'm not talking about building a PBN here, so what if there's a a footprint? I even put my money sites on my personal Google acc. Besides, you can obviously VPN and use another Google acc? If footprints are that much of an issue let's use them as an excuse to not do anything ever then.

your so right

I always say to people do what works for you

test, test and test some more

myself I love to take the road of least resistance

My test site get's very low traffic and I have no problem with this
it is a online/local type of site

depending on hard I want to work it makes me between 30k-60k
everytime my supply can never meet the demand

now this is only a test site I break every rule of SEO, I don't like following the herd of people
I like to break the rules and create my own path

I agree, in breaking SEO rules, not to be a sheep, thinking outside the norm etc... I like that.

but I dont like bragging about how you turnover 30k-60k etc....
(unless you are CEO sam ofc?) :p

Great share OP and thanks for taking the time to post this invaluable time and money saver.

Depends on the number of sites really. I personally like to see a bunch of single digit PAs. If more or all of the top results are over 20, move on.

ok thanks for the tip. food for thought.....

Basically stop doing SEO then.

Probably the best advice going.

If people started focusing on pr and marketing SEO would become SO much easier for lots of people.

Google ranks based on trust.

People display trust via links.

People give you links because of your distribution of content right before their eyes AND by building relationships with them.

You could train a monkey to do onpage seo in 1 hour, pr and marketing however...

That second part is very true. By building relationships AND/OR paying money.
