How much does my Instagram photos cost? Advice needed please.

They can take any photo they want and as long as they credit you u cant do shit. They can just steal it off your page and block your ass.

True, most people don't care and will repost without credit.

If you think you can sell them for high go for it..

I am a photographer for a living.

You wanna ask:

1.Period (Duration they wanna use the image)
2.Usage (Just online or print too?)
3.Territory (More for print but just US/Europe/Asia etc..)

Check out
the-aop. org/information/usage-calculator

If you cant see the link above just google AOP Usage Calculator...

(Very few clients buy the full rights for an image the price goes through the roof for a full buy out,)

Thank you so much! This website really helps and gives me an idea about the prices. I checked for a 10 year rights to an image. It is indeed expensive! Around 700 pounds!

Maybe do what Bill Gates did and license your photos out. Get royalty. Less upfront costs for them, and you get recurring income. Search it in google how it works. I'm sure there are those making money from this.

I would just be straight up with them, say you've never been paid for your work before and ask them what they think a reasonable offer would be. If the offer is insulting, then decline. Like you said, this could lead to a collaboration in the future. As you said already, this is a hobby for you, so anything you make is still a profit from doing what you love. You don't need to break the first time, but don't settle for anything less than you feel you're worth. I'm no professional photographer, but I'm sure just like with anything there's a learning curve. This could be the beginning of a new journey for you.

Just make sure they pay? but then even if they don't pay they can still take your photos..
