How long does it takes to learn SEO

SEO is not an exact, unchangeable science. It keeps evolving alongside trends and updates. Think of the most recent Google update; we’re still trying to figure out how stuff works. You could spend months absorbing knowledge, only to learn that said knowledge is no longer applicable.
So, instead of asking “how long does it take to learn SEO,” you should ask yourself, “Do I want to take the time to stay up to date with SEO?” Instead of googling info, you should find an active place (such as this forum, given that you’re already here), use the search function, and absorb the most up-to-date info. There is a beginner’s guide section to the left. It can get you started.
Stay active, keep moving, and you’ll be able to start applying SEO within little time.
But the moment you stop moving, you’ll be left behind.

I'm in my 3rd year learning SEO and I'm still learning and testing. Like many people said in this post, update, learn, adapt and keep on testing.
 
18 years and still learning new stuff. there is no time limit .

SEO learning never stops, no one can ever get at the bottom of SEO....but if you are learning it for the sake of doing it for your own website. Why Don't you let us sellers get the job done for you??:p:p:p It is definitely a great option.

It's upto you, but before getting into it. Try read about 2020 SEO guides also how the search engine works and it's algorithm changes.
 
There will be next step always when you jump to a new step. So there no end in learning. More knowledge will be acquired when you implement the thing which you learn.

Learning SEO does not have a set time I've been doing SEO for a long time and you are constantly learning what the Search Engines want and love.

What will work today may not work tomorrow however there are some basic fundamentals those that never changes with SEO. So learning SEO totally depends on you.

I agree with everyone else this is the place to be if you want to learn SEO.

If I am reading what you are saying here correctly, basically it comes down to knowing what you need and where to get it from (i.e. the marketplace)?

Wash, rinse, repeat?
 
The longer you experience anything, the more experience you should have with it. People have specialized in search since it was invented and still 20 years later some dork from BHW will manage to out perform them. Just stick around.
 
You can start learning SEO from famous bloggers, see their instructions. Of course, the best experience is when you have a site and you can experiment on it.

No, I was saying that there are tons of methods, niches, etc, don't spend too long reading, best way of learning is to have a go.
