Once again a question bout YouTube, who would have thought about that!
Well yeah, here I am, with a simple as question.

How Important are Channel Keywords?

My opinion:
The channel's keywords are as important as the video's keywords.

Why I came to this conclusion?
Descriptions, the name of your channel and everything else including text is part of ranking and exposure.
Of course it is just a small impact and might not be worth in most of y'all eyes.
The thing is, if you are using channel keywords but 60% of other channels does not,
you got an advantage already!

Here is a neat little graphic I found while doing some researches.
As you can see the main ranking factor are the video views and channel comments are less influencing.

I wasn't active on YouTube for a while now, but when I was,
I've made 55 million views and 160000 Subscribers
from Jan 2018 till December 2018 [ORGANIC ONLY].

Since I am a bit outdated I would love to learn about new tips and tricks
on how to create the perfect channel keywords.

Sorry rap, I'm quite rusty as well. Thanks for the chart though, pretty interesting.
I've updated my channel's keywords (first time after one and a half year, still same content).
So far I notice a small increase of traffic, but still, there are many other factors,
such as uploading daily, using good keywords on videos, connecting with people and so on.

Some details: The channel had no uploads for almost two months.
I've started uploading on Friday (26th April 19). On Saturday I've added new channel keywords.
Sunday has been much more successful compared to the days before.
So the channel's keywords are a good thing, maybe 3% of the overall work.

Here is a little screenshot. Info is not 100% exact.

I guess the chart is from 2012 when the views were the 1st ranking factor?
you'll get lost if you take all these factors seriously, just focus on quality videos you produce and you'll rank easily

Don't bother with channel keywords, you'll never rank for them and they're just a waste of time, focus on uploading daily and keeping the quality as high as possible.

I do focus on the quality all the time, thanks for the advise!

Yeah, I can agree. It is only around 1-2% of the actual work. I was engaging a lot plus posting two times a day, this kinda boosted the channel ones again. Will try to get into some collaborations now.

You never know what Youtube is doing behind the curtain. Im even paranoid about uploading daily being a bad thing.

If I have 2 channels, does youtube count as an upload on both channels since I use the same IP address and phone for verification? I want to diversify traffic from channel 1 into channel 2 but im not sure if this would be bad for channel 1 which is my main channel.. since you are sending people into another channel it may damage your rankings? (youtube wants people to stay within the same channel to rank better I would assume)

I had two channels at the same time, uploaded 1-3 videos on each one every single day.
The traffic only dropped (notifications stopped showing up) When I uploaded beyond 3 videos on each channel and as soon
I used the community page for too often.

So what I can tell from experiencing, you do not have to worry about uploading to several channels from the same IP.
It is not like on Instagram or Facebook. If you still would like to be on the safest side, get your self a VPN, best one I know is the Perfect Privacy VPN.
DO NOT USE free VPNs. But I can tell you, there is no need for a VPN unless you try to create tons of accounts and upload at the same times on all these channels.
