    And you can too!

I participate in a few other forums that are not related to Internet Marketing.. they are related to an industry I used to work in and still find interesting.

What I do is pretty much participate in the discussions about what the industry is doing, where it is going, what kind of legislation is happening and such.

I'm friendly with a few of those guys off line as well from deals that we have done together.

So, there was a discussion on the site about a guy's particular website and I offered to take a look at it for him to offer him some free advice.

He sends me the site (it was atrocious) and I made a few suggestions and even offered to do some free Kw research for the guy so he could get traffic to his site.

I got a lot of PMs from different guys asking all manner of questions and as I answered them I had several guys want to hire me to build their sites.

Turns out from just helping that one guy out, I got 3 orders for sites/KWs/articles from that crowd and I charged them all 750.00 to do the sites.

I also told them the TAT would be 30 days to make it easier for me.

So, if you are involved in other forums (whatever your hobbies or interests are), offer to help those that have sites or those that want sites and you could very easily walk into something like this by accident.

You don't have to sell them or pitch them your product/service, and in my opinion you shouldn't, just offer to help and you never know what may fall your way by just being a decent human being.

Thats the spirit - I agree with you completely - When people often meet me in a party or club and they say - So what do you do - I simply say - I help businesses grow bigger - thats it - everytime I say that people are like can you help me - I need my business to grow - give out my details and in the next week - I get clients - I dont sell anything - people always want growth - so yes - always offer a helping hand. :)

I did something similar on the ebay business discussion boards. About 15 people contacted me before ebay removed the post. But eBayers with websites don't want to pay much so it's not much of a business model. Plus the ones I worked with were a nightmare and made DP members look like Einstein.

    Great post as always.

I did some similar thing but in a whole different way and I too made some nice money for 6 hours of my time - it was $9xx I don't remember exactly.

Key is to not just target the Internet marketing niche (which I think is pretty much saturated) but to keep an eye on other niches as well and as they say the old BHW saying "thinking outside the box".

    Good luck everyone :)

Cool! I guess how much you could charge, though, depends on what sort of forum you frequent. I'm on some education boards now and I don't think ex-teachers have a whole lot of money to spend on website stuff.

Ex-teachers that are branching out into a new profession may have some startup cash... also maybe some of them are doing tutoring... you could set up a WP blog for them and they could be responsible for the content.

Just like the gold rush in California back in the day.. the only people who made real money were the dig equipment suppliers.

Hopefully some of you guys take this, twist it to fit you and your skill set and make cash from the post as that was my reason for putting it up there.

In fact, for the first 5 guys that show me that they took action and got some revenue by using some of what I shared in the post, I'll give you 12 linkpushes each.

You don't have to generate 2K but something reasonable using your particular skill set and they are yours.

    Hey BTB,

You are just turning sand into gold kind of guy. Yep as it is always said, think out of box and karma is the thing. You do good, you get better.

Many niches in the offline world are waiting and queuing at the website designers to get a professional site, but these con website people rip them (not all are same though). Here any of the BHWer can enter and opt to help them which in turn will get publicity in that particular niche.

Business is searching for you this way.

This just proves that your best customers are right under your nose. They are typically your friends, family and co-workers (or ex-co-workers)...

    Great Job!
