Thanks OP for the post. Business owners are out there and ready to give their business to people they can trust. I have been active in networking groups over the years and it has definitely paid off in the long run.
A couple of recent experiences include brief presentations at Chamber luncheons and morning network breakfasts. Both have resulted in small jobs, however, those can turn into larger projects in time.
The other recent development has been with a local printer. He wants to offer website design and internet marketing services to his clientele. I do not have to adjust my price, he just tacks on 20% to my quote to him. I updated his website and when people get a load of that they will recognize the quality in his (our) services. I have a business card with his company name on it and when I meet with his clients he can trust I represent his company.
Trust is a pretty firm foundation to grow upon.
Great post BTB! I assume you'll outsource the website work, correct?
Hopefully some of you guys take this, twist it to fit you and your skill set and make cash from the post as that was my reason for putting it up there.
In fact, for the first 5 guys that show me that they took action and got some revenue by using some of what I shared in the post, I'll give you 12 linkpushes each.
You don't have to generate 2K but something reasonable using your particular skill set and they are yours.
Good Nugget of Value!
I actually do something very similar to this minus the websites part with multiple forums not related to IM in any way at all, and I find myself making a decent piece of coin each day.
My advice, and I know it may sound retarded to some of you, but don't worry about making money at first.
As a matter of fact the more you let that idea sink in the more success you will start to see.
Instead worry about ways you can make people trust you more. When people trust you more the possibilities are endless and 10k or more per month is easily doable.
Without trust you're just another spammer in their eyes and you won't make a dime with that image(besides a few gullible guys of course)
Now the question you need to ask yourself is, how can I build trust on autopilot?
Much Success!lane:
Just like the gold rush in California back in the day.. the only people who made real money were the dig equipment suppliers.
