Nice post OP. You inspired me to try this method and gave me a couple ideas. Just a few questions. How do you transfer the domain to the purchaser? Do you use a 3rd party middle man or what?
Also would you be willing to share you cold email sales pitch?
Ok thanks for the info. Do you ever get stuck with domains? Let’s say you find a guy in Canada with “www.JoesElectric.com” so you buy JoesElectric.ca and try to sell it to him. But if he’s not interested you end up losing the cost of the domain.I let 3rd party deal with the transfer and payment.
I won’t share it word by word but as I mentioned in the thread before, I keep it short and simple.
nice little side hustle idea, thanks for the share @Tipitip
have you ever thought about just renting the domain name out, rather than selling it?
I was thinking something like,
first years rental £250,
if they re-rent it again the following year offer them 30% off the price.£175
If they don't want to rent again you can offer to sell it to them at double the price, £500. this way they can own it themselves.
or simply re-rent it on to their competitors and recycle and repeat.
i am doing that as a Rank & Rent, which require some time and work but once your site is rankink locally i contact some vendors and offer the leads that my site is getting if we close the deal i update the contact details and that's it.nice little side hustle idea, thanks for the share @Tipitip

Or do you go for more generic domains? Like instead you buy TorontoElectricians.com so if Joe isn’t interested, maybe bob from Toronto would be?

I don’t, they purchase it for the name.Quite smart but very hard scale
How do you explain the value of the domain/metrics to layman for example to storm construction site owner? They would hardly know expired domains or DA PA metrics ?
what i do isI had domains I bought thinking I would be able to resell, however I would later expire them because I wouldn’t think the same after a year or later. I guess it’s part of the game, you learn with trial and error. As years pass you become more selective picking out the right domain.
If you want to increase your chances of selling, hunt generic names. They’re safer in my opinion.
I really like the idea of rank&rent.
Do you make it a one page website or do you create a blog/news website and add articles?
I don’t, they purchase it for the name.
How long does this process take until you start receiving leads?what i do is
* with the domian i reach the best niche
* i create the page with service information in gneral using the best keywords
* i create the GMB and try to use as many links in to the new site
* after a few weeks i create an email with images from day 0 and other images with data from day XXX
* .....
I'm just getting into email marketing myself for generating traffic. Thanks for sharing. Great work.I wanted to share how I made 20x ROI in 11 days just by selling a domain name with email marketing. Hopefully it can be motivational for others out there who are trying to flip or sell domains too.
1) Found a domain that was recently dropped.
2) Checked and researched Google to check potential buyers. It was over more than 20 companies.
3) Purchased the domain name for $10.88 from a registrar.
4) Gathered emails of potential buyers by entering their website or a Google search.
5) Prepared a short and directly on point email template. No more than 3-5 sentences.
6) Emailed potential buyers. Some responded back interested and asking for the price.
7) After sending emails to potential buyers for 4-5 days I started receiving replies. Two companies were interested to purchase the name. After some back and forth replies and negotiations one of them agreed to purchase the domain for $250.
8) 11 days from the registration date I ended up selling the name for $250.
Yes, maybe it could’ve sold for more if I was more patient. But I’m happy with my return and directly settled for such amount. If I can do it, so can you!
i try to keep it simple, once is ranking (take some weeks) with data analytics i just create an email and send that information to possible businesses that may be interested on those rankings. How long does this process take until you start receiving leads?
Do you mainly receive leads as a phone call or email?
If you receive phone calls, do you buy a different phone for each website and GMB?
Thank you for the insight, I would love to hear more about it!
Is it possible to know which company it is?I use a company that sends me the payments via Wire, Paypal or BTC depending on my request. They charge me 9% for this.
