I did the same with a misspelling domain 15 years ago. I bought It for 10 bucks and sold It for 60.I wanted to share how I made 20x ROI in 11 days just by selling a domain name with email marketing. Hopefully it can be motivational for others out there who are trying to flip or sell domains too.
1) Found a domain that was recently dropped.
2) Checked and researched Google to check potential buyers. It was over more than 20 companies.
3) Purchased the domain name for $10.88 from a registrar.
4) Gathered emails of potential buyers by entering their website or a Google search.
5) Prepared a short and directly on point email template. No more than 3-5 sentences.
6) Emailed potential buyers. Some responded back interested and asking for the price.
7) After sending emails to potential buyers for 4-5 days I started receiving replies. Two companies were interested to purchase the name. After some back and forth replies and negotiations one of them agreed to purchase the domain for $250.
8) 11 days from the registration date I ended up selling the name for $250.
Yes, maybe it could’ve sold for more if I was more patient. But I’m happy with my return and directly settled for such amount. If I can do it, so can you!

The trick could be sending traffic by creating backlinks and then show stats . But It is kinda scamming
Wow, that idea sound really interesting and creative... thanks (I know you gave some vauge tips and not the crucial ones... understandable...)

Good job!
However, the problem with these kind of deals is that they're hard to reproduce.
It's great for a quick buck on the side, but if you were to find a domain that was attractive enough, then it'd be caught by the big services (DropCatch, Snapnames, etc) and then your margin would be much lower or perhaps even negative depending on how the auction goes.
@UpwardDescent
You lost me at, "HOWEVER!"
There is an online marketing strategy referred to as "Cold Outbound Email Marketing."
It's a numbers game and it works when tweaked right.
I promise, if you learn it, you will astound yourself!
Take notes, Tipitip went after it and he snagged it, I wish the same for you, whether you use that method or not.
Absolutely, I'm not saying that reaching out is the tricky part, but to actually get your hands on domains that they'll be interesting in purchasing.
Any domain that's relatively valuable will be caught by the domain catchers and in that scenario you'll miss out on making a profit as the auctions get a lot of attention.
What you will be left with is worthless domains and in rare instances, like this one, domains that these services miss.
Sure, you could turn a profit like this one, once every 5-6 months, but that's with a lot of work researching domains which is a lot of time compared to the reward.

I don’t use any company or software to purchase domains, I pick it manually.Absolutely, I'm not saying that reaching out is the tricky part, but to actually get your hands on domains that they'll be interesting in purchasing.

I have found my most valuable domain names executing manual searches.
And yes, you can beat out the software applications and domain catchers, but ONLY when you understand the nuances, and ebb and flow of each of the registrars.
Honestly, you can become a BEAST when it comes to snagging brandable, memorable, and profitable domain names, but you MUST be willing to put in the WORK!
