I wanted to share how I made 20x ROI in 11 days just by selling a domain name with email marketing. Hopefully it can be motivational for others out there who are trying to flip or sell domains too.

1) Found a domain that was recently dropped.

2) Checked and researched Google to check potential buyers. It was over more than 20 companies.

3) Purchased the domain name for $10.88 from a registrar.

4) Gathered emails of potential buyers by entering their website or a Google search.

5) Prepared a short and directly on point email template. No more than 3-5 sentences.

6) Emailed potential buyers. Some responded back interested and asking for the price.

7) After sending emails to potential buyers for 4-5 days I started receiving replies. Two companies were interested to purchase the name. After some back and forth replies and negotiations one of them agreed to purchase the domain for $250.

8) 11 days from the registration date I ended up selling the name for $250.

Yes, maybe it could’ve sold for more if I was more patient. But I’m happy with my return and directly settled for such amount. If I can do it, so can you!

can you please elaborate this step.

How would you fetch domains or expired domains? good work
Expired domains
can you please elaborate this step.
Typing your keyword on Google search and finding potential buyers from the results.

how did you decide which are potential buyers? And also how did you find the expired domain?
Let me just give you an example.

You own StormConstruction. com

Potential buyers;

Storm-Construction. com
StormConstructionCompany. com
StormConstruction. net
and so on…

Doing a Google search you will come across plenty of websites for that.

Good job!

However, the problem with these kind of deals is that they're hard to reproduce.
It's great for a quick buck on the side, but if you were to find a domain that was attractive enough, then it'd be caught by the big services (DropCatch, Snapnames, etc) and then your margin would be much lower or perhaps even negative depending on how the auction goes.

congrats.. but you need to add in the time it took to research and find the domain then research who will be your target market, and create and market the domain. all in all has to be at least a few hours of time.. which is good if you can rinse and repeat this at a scalable level. time is money

never thought of this...

So, how did you find the domain name?? Which tools did you use?

Congratulations for your first sale. You can establish it as a complete business.

So simple, right?

Some people try to succeed in various ways but in the end, everything is so simple, I'm not saying it's easy, but it's certainly not nuclear chemistry.

Such simple ^ threads ^ shake the reality and at least for a moment, you realize that things are so simple.

GG OP!

hey man, can you please say which tool you used to find the domain?

Great method, thank you OP, so how you find emails of potential buyer on google? Typing the domain you bought in Google or what? More detailed steps will. Be appreciated.

I guess you buy only. Com domain right?

I usually find them on “Contact Us” page or info@“companyname”.com and admin@“companyname”.com helps a lot.

I mainly buy .com but the one mentioned in this thread was .US

Nice one Op, I used to think members here knew all these. I know hundreds of young people that make a living with this. This biz is bigger than you can envisage. Some sell their domain hours after purchase.

Yes I’ve been investing and trying to flip domain names for a while now. But I never tried reaching out to potential buyers before. I would just park and wait for an offer instead. In recent years now I’m testing the waters by outreaching with email. Testing new templates, trying and learning more on the way. When you get sales while you’re learning it motivates you to continue and not give up. You need to be patient. Just like affiliate marketing and many other things out there
