Ive tried doing a search ad for a telegram link and it gets approved but it says the ad rank is too low to be shown for the keyword, ive tried increasing budget, adding 15 headlines, more descriptions but it didnt help.

Also, after a day of trying to get it to rank higher the account got suspended for cloaking even though i wasnt

Because cloaking is required to hide your TG link from Google's bots/detectors.

You need to make Google think you are advertising a website. The ad rank is just an illusion for them. They do not want such links to be promoted at the top.

but how’s it cloaking, it clearly shows it’s a telegram link at the top and when you click it, it’s telegrams url

Because you are the target.

But Google doesn't consider this as a TG link.

There are different cloaking methods and I'm not talking about useless/poor methods here. I'm talking about solid cloaking that requires advanced tools.

When you cloak your ads, the goal is to hide them from Google's radar.

ok if it’s cloaking it’ll redirect me when i click on it, but even before i click on it, it shows it’s a t.me link which is telegram so that’s got nothing to do with cloaking

I'm not an expert on cloaking at all, but I would guess they serve a compliant URL during bot/manual review & then you get served the actual link. Hence it is cloaked.

yh that’s fine, but they’re also showing “t . me” as the display url before clicking the link, i know it’s possible to change the display url to something completely different to the actual domain so maybe that’s what they’re doing but i would’ve assumed you get suspended for that

also if i use dolphin anty and set my user agent to google bot and click their ad i should get sent to the white page but i dont so that suggests they’re not cloaking

Interesting. I'll keep an eye on this thread, would be pretty interested to know what they're doing.

When you set the agent to Google Bot do you still see the same display URL?

yes exact same, display url and website url are both telegram

Is there a chance they're actually just generally approving TG links now? Given xAI partnered with Telegram, I wouldn't be surprised to see the floodgates opening on TG traffic from bigger platforms.

i tried myself, they approved it but the ad rank was too low to show up for any keywords

What are you trying to promote? To be fair, Bonk Bot is pretty well established & used (I've used it since 2023) so maybe it passed some sort of qualitative manual review. Can only speculate here though.

You mean same like this the url of the provider of sa360 check this is telegram link

They’re likely using aged accounts with high trust, warmed billing, and sneaky redirects—ranking telegram links

Sounds like they're using heavy cloaking or a sneaky redirect setup :suspicious: Google doesn’t usually play nice with Telegram links directly. Might be burner accounts + churn & burn method.
