I just got the Google Chrome Extension "Clearly" (from evernote), and it's actually amazing for reading on the computer. It takes the content of the page and formats it so that it's easier on your eyes to read than from a website. It works for pretty much everything in terms of reading and browsing. At first I thought it wouldn't make much of a difference, but TRUST ME, it did.... I mean I at least find it much more enjoyable to be reading using Clearly on many sites than to read off the sites with all different spacing, fonts, and colors (whether their good or not, our eyes have to adjust over and over, right?).... its just simple black and white text and consistently formatted.
It may not be the complete solution to protecting your eyes, but I do feel like my eyes are less heavy for the last week.
