How do you manage to get views on medium?

I want to know how at least to write the right articles, so my friend published series of books, he published two so far and I'm trying to help him to build an audience, even though I studied marketing but it's harder than I thought when it comes to do the action in real life.

Till now, I haven't started on medium. And honestly, I am too scared to do it seeing the competition there. It is dead scary tbh
