The secret to Medium in 2026 isn't the algorithm, it's Submitting to Publications. Instead of writing for a fresh profile with zero followers, pitch your articles to established Medium magazines (Publications) that already have the audience you need.

even then though, you submit to illumination , and get like 20 views now. its kinda bs unless your article magically gets picked up for distribution. their algo really sucks. I am pretty sure most of the ones that do real well are just botted, or boosted. someone should make a new medium thats better. X articles might be a real thing soon for parasites.
 
By writing consistently, choosing searchable topics, and sharing posts where your target readers already hang out.............

You are right, dropping articles in massive open publications like Illumination is a coin toss in 2026. The real game now is the Medium Boost; if an editor doesn't nominate you, The internal algorithm won’t make much difference.

As for X, it's definitely becoming the new Parasite SEO playground, but the intent is different. Use X for viral reach, but keep the high value solution content on Medium or your own domain where you actually own the reader's attention.
 
Medium is helpful for side traffic conversion methods; if anyone has patience and works consistently on Medium, in the future it will give value.
 
Growth comes from writing niche, reader first stories with strong headlines, consistent publishing, smart tags, publication submissions, and real engagement, not promotion hacks or volume.

Medium is a bit of a scumbag company, they try to not become a SEO offload cesspit, so they use the "bring your own readers/audience" mantra, initial discovery is exactly zero, and it remains at zero unless outside signals are generated.

Now you could generate this signals with a bot network but its very expensive and hard to do. So medium is kind of only a good place if you already have an audience and they have like related publishers, which might help.
 
Sometimes Medium content is viewed without much effort, and sometimes it takes a huge effort. Actually, sometimes I am very puzzled about Medium ranking, but I think old content is viewed more than new. So I keep my patience on Medium Publishing.

Have you seen LinkedIn Pulse work better than blogs for long-term search traffic, or mostly for short-term visibility?
 
Posting in major Medium publications and interacting with new posts early often drives early visibility.

getting views on medium post require posting post cont tent on other social app group/channel for other memebers to engage or make backlinks post on rank traffic pages to generate views.
