How do you get the timing right on Facebook?

I’ve noticed that a common strategy is to post a viral image and then, right after, post another image to take advantage of the engagement from the first one. But in practice, how is that possible? How do you hit the exact timing for the engagement to be “transferred”? In this case, after some time, the person goes back to the post, clicks “edit,” deletes the original content, and replaces it with something else — most of the time with a link in the comments.

It's a viral effect, the best timing is based on what country your audience is from and timing accordingly.

To time your Facebook ads correctly, you need to:
Select the correct time zone in your ad account settings.
Identify the times of day and days of the week when your target audience is most active.
Schedule ads for specific times, hours, and days.
Optimize your campaign budget to deliver at effective times.
Continuously monitor and adjust your campaign based on your results.
If you need more specific help optimizing your ad campaign, don't hesitate to ask!

I think this is possible, but the effect would only last for a fairly short period. Once a post has gone viral and already has reactions and engagement, switching the content to what you want will keep those numbers, making it look much more legit
As for the exact timing to edit, I’m not sure either, may be it based on experience.
If you try it and succeed, please come back and share more with me, I’d really look forward to that bro

Currently, I’m able to do this — I edit the post after 2 or 3 hours, and it works quite well. But in the past few days, the results have dropped. With each Facebook update, it seems the timing changes, and you have to figure it out again. I asked in this forum hoping someone might know a “formula” to calculate this timing.

I think each person will have their own formula. Because there are many influencing factors such as region, time, trends and client tastes.

Usually, if one of your posts goes viral, the posts after or before that will also be more popular and attract more reach. In my opinion, you should post the image after about 2 hours, because if you post it too close, the other image will go viral, the next post will have a harder time reaching users. As for editing, you should limit it because it can reduce the ability to distribute, or be flagged for manipulative behavior.
