How do you feel about signature links.

Hi all. I recently started a project from scratch. And noticed the thing that my project is created from scratch, has a ratio of 1 domain = 5 links (the approximate number of links put per domain). And my DR has the same value, and traffic as for example to old rival project, where at 1 domain has 210 links (approximate figures). I looked at the competitor's domain profile, and found that several platforms have 2-5-20 thousand links each. And came to the conclusion that these are the links in the signature. Each post counts as a new link.

This raised a questions -
- How do such links affect the link profile besides traffic.
- Do they dissipate link weight?
-What would happen if you remove a link in the signature of an account with 20 thousand posts - it would be tantamount to 20 thousand broken links.

I, personally, see no problem with sig links or having many links from the same domain.
For example, my site appears on some forums and thus I naturally have many links from the same forums... NO, I'm not going to contact those posters asking them to remove my links.

But... if you do use signatures, be very careful with your anchor text.

For example, here is a comparison of competitor domains


1 Domain - 15=57
2 Domain - 193=42.3k

With almost the same limiting traffic.

Hi, I don't know for sure if that's true, but it sounds just awful. Need a SEO expert in this thread ASAP!

It doesn't look very natural to me. It remains to be seen how Google feels about it.

Look at my signature... over 2.5k links... banner advertising, looks natural to me.

For traffic in general, yes. But in terms of search engine optimization, nothing much changes. I believe that links are taken into account, but they do not carry any special weight. Only target traffic.

And I wanted to understand how this strategy affects search engine optimization.

The main conclusion I made for myself. Thank you.

I don't see any problems with signature links if don't intentionally overdo it.

Links in signatures is a pretty common thing, nothing strange in that approach, many individuals and companies are linking their signatures as this attracts a lot of traffic on the site, especially if you are engaged on forums or other online platforms and you are really helpful for the community. Traffic from these links can really be valuable, so I wouldn't worry about it if you are doing everything right.
