yep, that's one of the few things that I actually know about this industry. I've lost 40% in all sorts of fees, heard and unheard of, on my first (and last) crypto transaction of 100 Euros that I've done some 3-ish years ago. So, I know how you can't even click on something within the crypto ecosystem without the mafia taxing you for "network fees" that miraculously always end up in their bank accounts...

yeah, it makes sense for the transaction fee to be in the currency of its network, but how can I pay that fee when I'm not allowed to swap the USDT for BNB? Is this not possible to do within this particular wallet?

When I first tried this industry some 3 years ago I remember that I've created a Metamask wallet and I think I could swap crypto inside of it, so why is this not possible with Coinbase?? I don't get it... or maybe I've not done the right steps? I don't know, I'll have to check again when I get the phone...

I think P2P is secure if you use a good escrow system, right?

Create an account on Binance and use p2p. Select your currency and the bank to which you want to receive money from selling USDT

In order to withdraw cryptocurrencies to your bank account, you have to use Binance-style exchanges, unfortunately there is no other way to do this.

What mafia? Fees go to the miners. Should miners work for free? It's supply and demand too, if the fees are high means someone is bidding higher than you, no mafia involved

I mean, I wouldn't mind doing this one time (especially since I'd push my father's mugshot forward instead of mine since it's his money), but the problem - as I said above - is that there's no way in which I can handle this money. I can only receive crypto to his wallet (I just got a test amount 2 days ago from someone on the forum who was kind enough to help me), but whenever I try to swap, buy, etc I always get the same error messages (you need to connect your wallet to Coinbase website, there's not enough eligibility for this asset pair, you need to pay RON 0.10 in BNB on BNB network as fees, etc...)

And I would gladly pay that measly fee, but the other problem is that after I receive that message there's nothing else to do, there's absolutely no way to interact with that message, there's no button or link anywhere. So I'm thinking that I'd have to transfer some BNB fees into the wallet and then I might be allowed to handle the USDT... I guess I'll need my father's phone to try these...

some of those fees do get to the miners, but most of them don't. The entire crypto industry is already in the hands of the oligarchs (aka mafia) who want to control and own even your soul and who enforce KYC retardness onto every exchange that wants to put the freedom and power in the hands of the people.

the commission was not the main point of my last reply, the point was the control that the same few obscenely rich people have gotten over this industry before the industry even had a chance to take off. I'm all for p2p. The fewer organizations and institutions that are involved in my financial transactions the better. The problem, however is getting the money out of the wallet, which I don't even know whether it's official anymore. Need the phone again to try a few things that I've been recommended here...

All interactions with cryptos need fees.

The way cryptos work is with blockchains - Public ledgers.
These public ledgers are run by other people on their machines. That is not cheap, so it's obviously not going to be free.

All interactions that change your crypto holdings in any way need to be verified and added to the public ledger.
Adding resources to the public ledger costs other people money, so you need to pay them fees.


You can't swap USDT to BNB (or any crypto like this) without fees anywhere regardless of the wallet, because those changes in your crypto holdings need to be added to the public ledger.

Withdraw through any crypto wallet, any Binance, or another platform. It's not difficult.

Kraken is also known for it, thats what I used to withdraw my USDT to Bank acc before.

if I don't see the cash I won't release the USDT, that's what I got from the replies here, so I don't think it's too complicated. My first (and only) crypto transaction ever had went smoothly (although it's true that the other person was very popular and fair in that network and he had guided me through everything, even encouraging me to wait until all steps - whichever those were, I don't remember - complete)

But anyway, P2P or not I want to get that money out one way or another. More so that I can calm my parents down who think they've been scammed (which they probably were, but still...)

UPDATE for the 2 people I owe explanations to (@MrDenz and @Juhku)

After nearly 10 hours of back and forth with another forum member (who I shan't name just in case he / she wants to be kept out of this), and after sharing dozens of screenshots between us, and entire pages of explanations and 2 failed transactions (both to my Metamask wallet), and after also getting in touch with real people from Metamask's support team I finally have a verdict to my problem and why I can't get the USDT out of the Coinbase wallet, and that's because the USDT that I have in the wallet is not real, its token is not USDT, but USDt (can you spot the difference?)

So...

the wallet was indeed Coinbase (at least by icon and by its inner looks), but the token this wallet functioned with was BEP20, even though (and this is the tricky part that confused even Metamask's support) as soon as I sent some USDT from my wallet to other address (in the same BEP20 token) the token that showed up in the transaction explorer was actually ERC20 (which I still haven't figure out what the deal with it is, but it doesn't matter anymore as this was a scam anyway and the money I have in my wallet is worthless).

Unfortunately (for me because I don't have any actual money to get out), but fortunately for you (because you don't have to waste your time with this anymore), the money in my wallet was fake money (like, the fakest of most fake that exists), not backed by any real cash, and its real token (USDt) is fake too (not backed by real cash) as the person who helped me elucidate this mystery finally figured out in our last message...

So, thanks for offering to help by sending BNB but I already have about $2 worth of BNB (which is actually the only real money I have in that wallet LOL) courtesy of another forum member which - again - I won't name. So, all is good now... well, half-good because the scam still hurts, but it also took a burden off my shoulders as I've not been sleeping well for over a week thinking about all of this fake money that's dropped on our heads and trying to figure out how to get it out. But now that I'm 1000% positive that this was a scam I can finally sleep well tonight....

Still, I appreciate the support of all of you, folks! We might not see eye to eye on certain matters (for example I hate the entire crypto industry while you love it), but that doesn't mean I can't be friends with you and appreciate your support

These being said (and the stress being finally relieved) I now go play some video games to de-stress and forget that for some people life goes from one misery to another...
