Feel free to PM me anytime if you require more assistance. I'm more than happy to help you get this sorted.
In about 6-7 days when I get access to father's phone. Until then it's pointless as I don't have the tool of the trade

That is no indication of a scam whatsoever.
It is just the icon style that your OS uses.
well, when you're panicked and paranoid (a normal state in my everyday's life) you see evil everywhere :p

I don't know which member said that, but that is just idiotic to scare someone like that just based on icon styling.
he said that it could be a scam long before I showed him the icon, I'm actually the idiot in here because I magnify problems when I'm despaired. Sorry!

Wallets support/track just so many prices of different coins.
It would be extremely expensive and hard to implement a system that tracks all the real-time prices of all crypto coins that there are.
It just happens that Coinbase Wallet that you are using, doesn't apparently track the prices of USDT (at least on the network that you're using).
Can't track price ==> can't show the value of those coins in the 'Main Currency' tab.
ah-ha! Makes sense....

You shouldn't need to connect the wallet to Coinbase in any way.

Coinbase wallet is self-custody, and shouldn't need anything connected or whatever.
so it is a scam then! Because I am 1000% sure that it asked me to connect to Coinbase website, I just don't remember what I clicked on in order to get that prompt... But I'll let you know when I get the phone,

All crypto transactions require you to pay a transaction fee.
yep, that's one of the few things that I actually know about this industry. I've lost 40% in all sorts of fees, heard and unheard of, on my first (and last) crypto transaction of 100 Euros that I've done some 3-ish years ago. So, I know how you can't even click on something within the crypto ecosystem without the mafia taxing you for "network fees" that miraculously always end up in their bank accounts...

USDT is a token that lives inside numerous different networks. Your USDT seems to be in the Binance Smart Chain as a BEP20 token. That just means that the transaction fees will be in BNB.
yeah, it makes sense for the transaction fee to be in the currency of its network, but how can I pay that fee when I'm not allowed to swap the USDT for BNB? Is this not possible to do within this particular wallet?

When I first tried this industry some 3 years ago I remember that I've created a Metamask wallet and I think I could swap crypto inside of it, so why is this not possible with Coinbase?? I don't get it... or maybe I've not done the right steps? I don't know, I'll have to check again when I get the phone...

Anyway, when I get the phone I'll go through the options again, maybe I've missed something.... and I'll PM you for sure if I need help. Thanks for helping :)

In order to withdraw cryptocurrencies to your bank account, you have to use Binance-style exchanges, unfortunately there is no other way to do this.

What mafia? Fees go to the miners. Should miners work for free? It's supply and demand too, if the fees are high means someone is bidding higher than you, no mafia involved

but how do I get the money out of my wallet? That's the main problem, that I can't do anything with that "money"....

I mean, I wouldn't mind doing this one time (especially since I'd push my father's mugshot forward instead of mine since it's his money), but the problem - as I said above - is that there's no way in which I can handle this money. I can only receive crypto to his wallet (I just got a test amount 2 days ago from someone on the forum who was kind enough to help me), but whenever I try to swap, buy, etc I always get the same error messages (you need to connect your wallet to Coinbase website, there's not enough eligibility for this asset pair, you need to pay RON 0.10 in BNB on BNB network as fees, etc...)

And I would gladly pay that measly fee, but the other problem is that after I receive that message there's nothing else to do, there's absolutely no way to interact with that message, there's no button or link anywhere. So I'm thinking that I'd have to transfer some BNB fees into the wallet and then I might be allowed to handle the USDT... I guess I'll need my father's phone to try these...

some of those fees do get to the miners, but most of them don't. The entire crypto industry is already in the hands of the oligarchs (aka mafia) who want to control and own even your soul and who enforce KYC retardness onto every exchange that wants to put the freedom and power in the hands of the people.

You see, people being free, rich and happy scares the living shit out of the parasites in suits (businessmen) who never produce anything, never share the wealth, never sympathize with anyone, never help anyone. Their only purpose is to accrue wealth in the first place, and to own all life sustaining assets (food, land, water, etc) in the 2nd place. Companies like Vanguard, Blackrock and Blackstone are infamous for doing this, and - sadly - for now they still control a good chunk of the planet, along with the people. And now Microsoft gets into land grabbing and food supplying, and I have a feeling that MS directly reports to the oligarchs at BlackRock and BlackStone who directly report to higher ups that are so obscenely rich that they can't even count their money anymore...

What people do with their money (crypto or cash) is their own business, in any normal society everyone should never have to answer to any parasite (banker, broker, businessman, politician, etc). The politicians are employed by us (the people) to work for us, they shouldn't have any power or say in anything unless they consult us first. Have you checked how many politicians in positions of actual power still work for us? I've not seen one in ages (probably because I've not been following news and watching TV since 2005 :p)... Oh wait, I remember: it was the PM of Slovakia (Fico I think is his name) who wanted to prevent Slovakia from entering NATO and was immediately shot by the American oligarchs. But I'm getting into politics and that's not allowed, but you startled me :p

The point is: I am all for the miners (and people who work) to get paid, even more than what they're paid. I've said it multiple times (and I truly believe in what i'm saying) that I want the entire planet to be rich, free and happy. People who have everything they want have no reasons to rebel or wage wars. But do bare in mind that I'm talking about normal people, not the degenerates in suits whose only purpose in life is to accrue wealth and do commerce with bodies. So yes, I do want the miners to get paid, but there have been 5 or 6 types of fees and commissions that made up the 40% that I've lost of the 100 Euros that I've deposited and not the entirety of the 40% have gone to miners. Of this I can assure you as I've noticed the scam at that time... I only wish I remembered what those fees were for so I could share with y'all, I'm sure you would have scratched your heads :)

Holy jesus! dude, go with paxful, they only take 1% of your deposit & that's it.

Hi,

My father asked me to withdrawn his USDT to a bank account, but the last (and only) time I've done a crypto transaction I ended up paying over 40% in commissions, taxes, fees, and other scammy terms invented by the financial mafia, and I'd like to avoid this experience this time, especially since 1) this is not my money and 2) it's a decent amount of money by our standards, and we wouldn't want to waste it all on commissions, taxes, fees, etc...

So, if you've ever withdrawn USDT from your wallet application (on your smartphone) can you please answer these questions:

1. do I need an account with any of those networks (Binance for example since this is - apparently - what my father's wallet is asking me to use), or can I withdraw the USDT directly to my bank account without needing an account with those websites like Binance? If I can do it without a Binance account, can you please guide me on how to do it? Or at least give some important tips that would help me complete the process fast and without hassles.

I am from Romania by the way, so I will need to withdraw this money into a Romanian bank account

2, If an account with Binance is needed, can we withdraw the money fast and clean, or will it take weeks / months of warming the account up, building up credibility, etc?

3. Are there any limits on the amount of USDT that can be withdrawn per day / week / month / year? I will check Binance's website for answers to all of these questions, but given the state of affairs with the big companies nowadays I am finding it harder each day to trust these crooks, that's why your personal experience is more important to me than what their sales and marketing teams wrote on their websites.

4. Regarding the KYC, which documents do I need at any step of the process (creating Binance account, converting USDT into cash, withdrawing the cash)?

4. Last but not least, are there other (non-obvious but dangerous) things I should be wary of with this industry? My entire involvement with the crypto industry had been a loss of 100 Euros in a scam about 2 years ago, and since then I've been staying away from this industry without regret. Unfortunately, this is not possible this time around as I'm doing this on the behalf of my father's because he is even more clueless about crypto than me, and it's a long and ugly story on how he got pulled into crypto, so please don't ask! All I know is that the person who handled all of his transactions is gone missing (what a shock, huh?) and now I have to do this myself...

Anyway, which things should I be wary of / concerned about before withdrawing this money? Thanks!
the best way binance exchange and its trusted p2p , I use p2p only for selling or sending money to others easy .

Holy jesus! dude, go with paxful, they only take 1% of your deposit & that's it.
the commission was not the main point of my last reply, the point was the control that the same few obscenely rich people have gotten over this industry before the industry even had a chance to take off. Everything that's important in life is in the hands of a few psychopaths, and if this doesn't bother you.... well, I don't want to go further with conclusions, but just know that it's not normal :)

But thanks for the tip, I've noted it. And Paxful is indeed on my list of options...

Cheers!

I'm all for p2p. The fewer organizations and institutions that are involved in my financial transactions the better. The problem, however is getting the money out of the wallet, which I don't even know whether it's official anymore. Need the phone again to try a few things that I've been recommended here...

Ye, best way creating a binance account and using p2p sorry

2. Transfer all USDT to binance USDT Wallet.
well, this is what I'm trying to figure out: how to transfer the USDT to anything, really. At the moment I can't swap / send / buy anything with it for various reasons that I've mentioned throughout the forum, so this is where I need your help with :)

I don't know what country you're from, but you can use a crypto exchanger for cash or bank transfer. You should look for it in your city

The same here, but anyways, let's not derail the thread, and keep it about helping you find a solution for your problem. :)
agreed, sometimes I'm too hot headed :p

yeah, it makes sense for the transaction fee to be in the currency of its network, but how can I pay that fee when I'm not allowed to swap the USDT for BNB? Is this not possible to do within this particular wallet?

All interactions with cryptos need fees.

The way cryptos work is with blockchains - Public ledgers.
These public ledgers are run by other people on their machines. That is not cheap, so it's obviously not going to be free.

All interactions that change your crypto holdings in any way need to be verified and added to the public ledger.
Adding resources to the public ledger costs other people money, so you need to pay them fees.

You can't swap USDT to BNB (or any crypto like this) without fees anywhere regardless of the wallet, because those changes in your crypto holdings need to be added to the public ledger.

So I'm thinking that I'd have to transfer some BNB fees into the wallet and then I might be allowed to handle the USDT
Yep.

Let me know when you get a hold of your father's phone and PM me.
I'll send you some BNB so you can get your USDT out.

Also,
this is my tip to you.

Please, do NOT use P2P.
I know a lot of people here recommend it to you, but please, do not do any P2P transactions.
I'm going to be honest, and say that you most certainly do not know enough about cryptos for you to do P2P safely.

Withdraw through any crypto wallet, any Binance, or another platform. It's not difficult.

Kraken is also known for it, thats what I used to withdraw my USDT to Bank acc before.

will do :)

if I don't see the cash I won't release the USDT, that's what I got from the replies here, so I don't think it's too complicated. My first (and only) crypto transaction ever had went smoothly (although it's true that the other person was very popular and fair in that network and he had guided me through everything, even encouraging me to wait until all steps - whichever those were, I don't remember - complete)

But anyway, P2P or not I want to get that money out one way or another. More so that I can calm my parents down who think they've been scammed (which they probably were, but still...)

Withdraw through any crypto wallet, any Binance, or another platform. It's not difficult.
you think so?

UPDATE for the 2 people I owe explanations to (@MrDenz and @Juhku)

After nearly 10 hours of back and forth with another forum member (who I shan't name just in case he / she wants to be kept out of this), and after sharing dozens of screenshots between us, and entire pages of explanations and 2 failed transactions (both to my Metamask wallet), and after also getting in touch with real people from Metamask's support team I finally have a verdict to my problem and why I can't get the USDT out of the Coinbase wallet, and that's because the USDT that I have in the wallet is not real, its token is not USDT, but USDt (can you spot the difference?)

So...

Let me know if I'm wrong about Binance/Coinbase and where you have it at this moment, I might be able to help you out.

the wallet was indeed Coinbase (at least by icon and by its inner looks), but the token this wallet functioned with was BEP20, even though (and this is the tricky part that confused even Metamask's support) as soon as I sent some USDT from my wallet to other address (in the same BEP20 token) the token that showed up in the transaction explorer was actually ERC20 (which I still haven't figure out what the deal with it is, but it doesn't matter anymore as this was a scam anyway and the money I have in my wallet is worthless).

@tazarbm
Feel free to PM me anytime if you require more assistance. I'm more than happy to help you get this sorted.
Let me know when you get a hold of your father's phone and PM me.
I'll send you some BNB so you can get your USDT out.
Unfortunately (for me because I don't have any actual money to get out), but fortunately for you (because you don't have to waste your time with this anymore), the money in my wallet was fake money (like, the fakest of most fake that exists), not backed by any real cash, and its real token (USDt) is fake too (not backed by real cash) as the person who helped me elucidate this mystery finally figured out in our last message...

So, thanks for offering to help by sending BNB but I already have about $2 worth of BNB (which is actually the only real money I have in that wallet LOL) courtesy of another forum member which - again - I won't name. So, all is good now... well, half-good because the scam still hurts, but it also took a burden off my shoulders as I've not been sleeping well for over a week thinking about all of this fake money that's dropped on our heads and trying to figure out how to get it out. But now that I'm 1000% positive that this was a scam I can finally sleep well tonight....

Still, I appreciate the support of all of you, folks! We might not see eye to eye on certain matters (for example I hate the entire crypto industry while you love it), but that doesn't mean I can't be friends with you and appreciate your support :)

These being said (and the stress being finally relieved) I now go play some video games to de-stress and forget that for some people life goes from one misery to another...

Peace everyone, and God bless y'all!

PS: you can close the thread mods, I've no need for it anymore...
