Hey, just to let everyone know who is still wondering, Hostgator seems to be recovering now. All my sites were down this morning, now they are live again. Finally!

Heh, mine are still down.

They are working on their systems to make sure all the websites get back up quick.
Make sure to check their Twitter account to keep yourself updated,

Ha weird, yeah I just checked 30 mins ago and mine were down and then checked it again now and it's back up. Well the good news is that they are working on it for sure

Too bad, Hostgator & Bluehost got bought out by EIG. And we all know EIG isn't really that great - just look at justhost, netfirms and others.... I miss the old stable hostgator days...

Do you guys often experience problems with Hostgator?
I have been with Hostgator for over 2 years now and this is the second time only I think. I really like their support chat, they always help, but if it happens more I will probably switch too

It's up one minute and down the next. Same thing with my sites.

Just a recommendation but if you have a serious money making domain consider having a second fall back hosting option with another hosting company and periodical update that site to be in sync with the other site. This happens way too much.

Yeah good call on the second option in case things like this happen.
Have anybody tried setting up their own hosting? Is it hard?

yeah so as I started getting all excited... my sites are all down again. Damnnnn

Mine are up. And pretty stable and quick.
Hope it was a full restart of the servers so they can get back their full speed.

And i hope it's the last one...

The hosting is going up and down. Up for 30 mins down for 10mins etc. Hopefully they are close to resolving this.

too much time offline, never got that experience with hostgator, im there for more than 5 year, now i wanto to move to a new provider but i like hostgator, the support are very good and also they dont charge to check and fix issues into the server
at other company i got a better server with the same price, from 4 to 16GB or RAM, from 2.3GHz to 3.5GHz of processor, from 500GB to 2TB of hard disk, and from 10GB to 33GB of bandwith but they charge about $75/hour when I open a technical ticket when hostgator just solved lots of issues for me, to have an idea they found a hacked account who's sending spam from my dedicated last week, they told me why magento are not working and when I need anything they are always there to help me out, thats why i dont know what to do for now

I had a seperate host gator server that was down but is now back online.

Mine seem to be up. What happened?
