Help with CJ affiliate code

Hello I just became a member of Commission Junction for my carpet cleaning website for a guy and I was just needing to make sure that my link will still give me credit. It says to only use the html links but I don't want to use there html's. I just want to use the url. Will this still give me credit using the link after clicking the html code instead of the whole html?
