Hey, I have a few questions regarding SEO for a blog. For the sake of the question, I am gonna assume that I have a blog where I mainly talk about technology updates (softwares, reviews, etc), but also write articles about SEO and social issues, news, etc.

    The Questions
    1. So, when it comes to the domain name for such a blog, how should I choose it? Is it true that your domain name has to match the niche for ranking, for eg:- a Tech Blog at techtona.com has better chances of ranking than vistaton.com? Myth or truth?
    2. As for the situation explained at the starting, what should the description of the Blog Homepage be, like "A Blog about, technology, seo, news, etc" or something else? Your opinions please.

Yes you can use tech as prefix, ranking some how matters with relevancy, but u have to create good backlinks and your onpage should be relevant to your contents...

    1. Better to have your keyword in the domain name to your viewers know what the website is about.

    2. Regarding the description, you should have keywords that you want to target for SEO purpose

Thanks for the answer, but it seems to be hugely vague. I was looking for more specific answers, relevant to the example I have explained at the starting of OT.

    1. It is very unlikely that you will ever rank for 'tech', and if you do, having 'tech' on the domain will have very little to do with it.
Get a domain that you like and that is memorable.
    2. Just write a generic description, there is no recipe, if you are focusing on this you are wasting your time.

    Sorry for being rude.

its better to use the keyword in your domain. for example if you are going to start a gardening blog then gor for some thing which has Gardening in it like GardeningFresh etc . use tools like leandomainsearch.com and domainbot to find some good variations.
