Hi,

I want to get my site into position 1 on the first page of Google within 4 weeks.

I am currently positioned 2nd just behind my main competitor. I dont want to include any "black hat" techniques.

Can anyone make any suggestions as to what I can do to jump above them?

Currently I do the following:

- Keyword Research
- Directory Submissions
- Article Submissions (With Backlinks)
- Social Sharing
- Internal Article Submissions (With Backlinks)

Recently I ran the PageSpeed Insights tool and noticed that the site speed was awful. This has since been improved dramatically!

Any help is appreciated!

The only thing I can tell you is to do technical SEO (optimising the code and increasing the speed on your website) and make sure your on-page SEO is spot-on. Most people don't even consider doing the former.

OK "No black hat technique" so you can optimize your SEO onpage
Internal Link
Structure SILO
SEO Coding for Google artificial intelligence
Image optimization
Title and meta description
Structure H1 to H5
Page speed optimization
and any more

Thank you both.

Can you recommend any threads or tutorials on optimizing code for Google? My technical SEO isn't great at all!

Thanks for your help.

You can always build natural backlinks with the use of real guest posts. This will help you to improve the ranking position.

There aren't really any guides on technical SEO here. I was planning on writing one back in March, but decided to postpone it until later this month.

You've already increased your site speed, so that's the first step. If you use WordPress, I have a guide for increasing the speed of those sites even further here.

Edit: Here's one guide I found. It's from 2014, but the information is still relevant. http://www.bruceclay.com/blog/11-essential-technical-seo-elements/
