Hello everyone. Help me get clients. I created an iPhone app (Android is still in development).

Topic: cooking and recipes. The idea is that you take a photo of ingredients, the app recognizes them, and then gets you a ready-made recipe. You also get cooking steps, the number of calories in one serving, and the amount of exercise required to burn those calories from one serving.

You initially get three free suggestions, then paid suggestions. 10 suggestions = $0.99

The problem is, I don't know how to advertise. I've tried YouTube, TikTok, and adsterra.com, but no one wants to use or install my app.

Can you tell me if this topic is simply not relevant? Or can someone help with paid promotion? Perhaps I can find a partner for promotion if you have traffic sources for this app.

FB cooking groups and female groups generally

Or some other cooking groups ,where you probably find some gen z cooks

Hello,

When there is a successful startup or business, it is usually because of one of two reasons:
Either they introduced an innovative idea that had never been done before, or they executed their marketing and advertising strategy exceptionally well.

Technical knowledge alone is often not enough for commercial success. That is why many engineers and entrepreneurs also invest time in learning business, marketing, sales, and brand management.

For this reason, I would recommend focusing not only on product development, but also on improving your knowledge of marketing, communication, and business strategy. Acting with the right mindset and strategy can significantly increase the chances of success.

Your app idea is actually a good one, but recipe apps are hard to push with ads alone because people need to instantly “feel” the value. i will say you focus more on short demo-style content showing the ingredient scan working in real time instead of direct install ads.

Your project targets a market segment consisting of young adults who have not yet had extensive exposure to a wide variety of dishes. Conversely, an experienced home cook—such as a woman who frequently prepares meals—would likely have no need for your application. Therefore, clearly defining your specific target customer base will prove highly beneficial to you.

try to market and demo video on cooking group adding videos + mentioning your app and say more recipes on xyz app

You're selling 1 suggestion for $0.1 which is not bad. But most people may not show interest to pay monthly subscription. So, it's better to have an alternative. I'd recommend ads to earn gems that can be spent for suggestions. In tier-1 countries, you get a lot more than $0.1 for each ad. So, let them watch an ad for in-app currency and purchase subscription if they like the app and don't want to watch the ads.

The marketing depends on the target audiences. You can promote it through ads on YouTube cooking channels or fb cooking groups. The marketing strategy should be refined based on user responses.

getting initial downloads on a low budget is a massive grind right now, organic traffic on the stores is basically dead unless you already have high download velocity. if you've already tried basic stuff like social media or ASO and nothing is moving, don't waste cash on cheap fiverr or bot installs because google/apple will just wipe your app or ban your account. if the app is actually solid and has decent retention, you're better off looking for a mobile publisher. check out teams like cas ai—they fund the entire user acquisition budget and handle the marketing under a revenue share. it saves you the headache of trying to source traffic solo when you don't have a big budget to burn.
