Help: how can I stop instagram from detecting my location?

Since yesterday, I'm having the problem that instagram won't stop detecting my location on my Android device, as evident by the ads they show me (for my reasons, I don't want to and shouldn't see ads based on my location). I'm always using VPN, and I also turned off the location access for all apps on my phone. I also use the English language on the instagram app, instead of my country's language. I've even turned off the App history and the Location History on my Google account. But nothing helps, and they keep detecting my location time after time. This problem only started yesterday - ig never detected my location before that. What can I do?

I'm not following or followed by anyone from my country. And this problem only started yesterday...

VPN is shite with Instagram. Only a proxy can spoof the location with VPN they can see through!
