Congratulations on that. Next time if you buy or sell something on any marketplace where escrow is supported use that.

Hey guys :) Seems like we are #trending today on BHW. I can't really read everything in here as there's a LOT to read. I read the post from the seller and I will respond accordingly with our Side's story. Later on, if I can, I will try to respond the other legitimate ones (not the shit ones as I don't really care about those). Also, I am not interested in continuing the debate here as that would never pan out to be a good one. We will rather do a big blog post explaning everything :)

So we bought the site for $4001 on Flippa last week. According to the seller:

- The site was making $177 from Google Ads and Affiliate Sale (false info)

When we looked into this, after we bought the site (we had a chat with our Ezoic rep too) and we found that we couldn't place Google Ads on the site anymore as the site deals with violence (have the screenshots of our conversation with google rep if someone needs it).

When I asked the seller about this (remember, this is after the purchase), he said that the site got an Adsense penalty which was recovered (again, this was never mentioned before and we only found out after our query) ...

- The site was making at least 2 shoutout deals every week (false info)
That was a pure lie. After I got access to his Shoutcart account, I looked and there was 1 sale in last 30 days. Again, i have the screenshots and pretty much all proof that you need :)

- The site was selling around 2 guest posts / week (false info)
This is interesting. This might be true, however, the way the seller was getting these sales were using his Fiver (he has a gig of 'I will post a guest post on my DA 29 site') account and FB profile (he posts on different groups)

Of course, I couldn't get his FB profile, but we asked for Fiverr as it had reviews and ratings with those specific gigs. He denied.

- The site was getting around 1000 visits/day
That was the biggest one of all. The site actually received a Google penalty (the core update on 2nd June) which we quickly realized.

Considering all of the above, we asked the seller if he would be open to a partial refund of 2000 as he hid so much info and we said, we will also give the Instagram account back so it is not a big loss for him.

He came back and said he is happy to do a full refund. Again, I have the whole email conversation. But he wanted us to push the domain first: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=jb3beu&s=9

Of course, we couldn't do that. :)

So we asked a partial refund of $2000 from PayPal day before yesterday. We can re-open the PayPal claim till Jul 31st, 2019 so let's see how things go from here.

That's about it.

wtf? it was his plan to CHARGE BACK. some people are so low quality damn it

also imagine having this low IQ to openly brag about it on ur website and forum then get it used as proof against u

DID op received his money back?
I was just shocked by the whole situation. It’s rather ugly.

OP won the case.

I will show this thread to my younger brother. He happens to be a big fan of @Passive Journal. This is gonna be fun.

I always told him(my brother) just because he sells you pricy pbn does not mean he is a great SEO GUY or human being in general.

Lets see how he reacts.

I am happy that OP won the case given the fact that @Passive Journal is a SEO, he should have considered all the possibilities beforehand purchasing a website.

And about trying to sell IG account, i believe khalid was pretty sure at that point that he was not going to get a refund or win a paypal dispute. He was just desperate to win back what is possible. SOME MONEY!

My 2 cents though.

It's not asking a partial refund from PayPal, you filed a dispute and escalated to a claim (or did seller escalate to claim?)

Of course he will ask you to push the domain first. He isn't going to send your money back so that you can have the domain AND the money.

There is no way for him to claim the domain and money back if he refunds you while you control the domain and instagram.

However, if you send the domain first, you will have your claim with PayPal for the money, so you have more liklihood that PayPal will decide in your favor when you show them you returned the domain.

You made a blog post about how you recommend newbies stay away from Flippa because they are likely to get scammed, so clearly you knew that there were risks and you should have known how to check them BEFORE you bought it.

It's really hard for us to side with you when your blog post says "The only reason why I paid $4001 for the site is because of the healthy Instagram account with a decent follower number & the traffic of the site."

If you knew before the purchase that even one page of the site deals with violence then you should consider there could be a risk of an Adsense penalty.
After all, it was clear to you what is the contents of the site before the purchase.

Basically everything you put in this response is on you as you didn't do your due diligence properly prior to purchasing the site.
