Hello,

I am a recent cybersecurity/computer science graduate searching for jobs and experience. I've been a freelance developer for over ten years, but I am struggling to find a job. I am seeking remote work due to medical issues and have applied for 500+ jobs. Only a handful responded, "We are going to look for other candidates but we will keep you in mind." I graduated at the top of my class and have years of freelance programming and cybersecurity expertise. However, I still need help finding a job. I've had my resume reviewed by several professionals, family, friends, and my school, and they all agree it's well put together. I'm astonished at how many people I know in computer science/programming and cybersecurity are left unemployed. What can I do to get hired, and where should I look? I've been on Indeed, Linkedin, Handshake, and securityjobslist. I would greatly appreciate any help. I'm hoping this forum can help me find answers to my questions and make me a more learned person in general.

Welcome, I have knowledge of a lot of remote Jobs in The Netherlands. Not sure how your schooling system works, they do require the highest of education in the Netherlands. Which is a Masters degree at a (Dutch) University. They are common to also hire foreigners though. You could always try to scout for some jobs here. Work enough in IT

-edit: maybe try Fiverr? They do charge you a lot for being the middle man though. Anyways i guess its better than nothing :)

What does your porfolio/github look like? You should have a decent amount of projects you've worked on over the 10 years that you can showcase to recruiters.

Do you have a social media presence? Nowadays having a digital footprint will give you an edge when looking for most corporate jobs.

Not clear how many years ago you graduated, but if it was over 1 year ago, 2 max, no one in corporate cares you were top of your class.

Skills are all that matter, what value can you provide to a business? Genuine question to reflect on.
