Has anyone applied for monetization after new threshold?

Hi has anyone reapplied for monetization? I am curious because I use short snippets of movies and edit them and I'd like to know about how strict the new review is. For the 10,000 views, they approved my channel for monetization despite using some movie clips. So I don't know if they will approve my channel once i hit 1k subs.
