Hey,

how's it going? I hope your sites are doing well and you are enjoying the fruits of your hard labor? Great! Well, we just wanted to let you know that we are starting a new web-series called 'SEOlutions Guides' that will cover the most important topics and factors that need to be considered when you are trying to rank well in the SERPS.

We just posted the first installment of the web-series on our blog that covers the following topics:


  • Basic website setup (Hosting, CMS, Theme, Plugins, Mandatory Pages, Content)
  • Basic on-page optimization
  • Optimizing the speed of your website

The second installment will be published in the coming days and will cover tiered link building, link types, anchor diversity and link velocity. It will basically give you a rough guideline on how to structure/compile your link building campaigns to achieve long-term and stable ranking, thus protecting you from any of the future animal updates that Google has planned for the world of SEO.

We are still deciding on the topic that we will cover in the third installment, but you are welcome to make interesting suggestions.

Good stuff. Amazing how many people in the SEO game get this wrong. Meh...guess it is good. Less competition for me:)
 
Thanks for sharing but the forum rules and etiquette demand
that you should have posted your guide here instead of merely linking to the guide on your personal/company blog

This comes across as blatant self promotion ( which may or may not be intentional )

Can you please show us a rule that prohibits contributions to be linked to an external site? If you take offense at a post linking to a well-formatted guide on an external site because it strikes you as "blatant self promotion" then you can always choose not to click on it.

Well if everyone here starts linking to one's own blog instead of sharing on the forum, BHW will soon turn into a graveyard ( we don't want that, do we? )

Regarding the rules, you can check with a mod whether its fine or not.

Maybe you should have checked with a mod before claiming that it is against the rules ;)
 
Hey do you really include H1 tag in every post? I use thesis and there is H1 for whole page .

So do you need to creat title then H1 tag and then h2 , h3 ?
 
Great guide, it's always good to read stuff like this to refresh the memory. One more thing about adding a batch of 100 articles to a site, this may be good for specific niches, but from my experience half of that number or even less works on some niches. One more question about what type of titles should be used on the content?

On most of our themes the title of the post/article is already pre-determined as an h1 header. We then proceed to create engaging h2-h3 (sometimes down to h5) headers for the subsequent paragraphs in the article.

Yeah, of course the approach may differ for every site. We just wanted to share how we approach our sites and how we optimize them, while targeting a lot of different long tails at the same time.

You can even rank with a single page of 1000 words - but the more you put, the more you get back (long-term).
