Google update again?!

That Evil Genius Google is at it again! You have to give them credit for using the "act of war" tactics on backlink builders. All updates are designed to confuse and discourage link building of any kind.

Funny thing is I've never done an ounce of blackhat SEO (well on my top sites) and still get rekt every update..

I think this recent update is more of a "September 27th" recovery than it is "August 1st (or 3rd)". My ranks reverted back to pre-September 27th positions and are still recovering. Maybe ranks can reverted back to pre-August 1st. That would be almost too-good-to-be-true.

However!

Like I already mentioned in this thread before - I don't see a reason why my site would be brought back to be honest, since I'm in health niche and I am no doctor. I did close to no changes since August 1st to my main website. No change in authorship, no boosting of authors, no new links (barely some natural links popped in), no removal of old content, no site speed optimization, no boosting of "about us pages"... I was only adding new content weekly. All those false prophets claiming that EAT is now the thing are proven wrong!

So.

I think nowadays with google it is only luck (apart from doing a normal SEO optimization of the website) - one time you're hit, one time you're saved by a lucky roll. I had 5 years of stable rankings and then BOOM - my site lost 95% of rankings. A few days back it started bouncing back to old glory. Wow.
Like I said before - i see no reason why my site would be brought back, yet it seems that it's recovering very well.

I did file a disavow tool in December (if you check this thread a few pages back), but i sincerely doubt that this had had an effect. All the links I've disavowed were really really shitty links, pointed to my site from scrapper sites that steal my content and images and just use some keywords to link to my site. I'm sure google can eliminate these scrapper sites from having an effect anyway without me disavowing them.

It seems that this EAT is just snake oil, like I've mentioned many times before.
It also seems that with new updates you may just be a collateral damage or a total winner. All based on luck. Proven on my example and my history of ranking.


So to all people that got destroyed with this latest "board core algorithm update" - I did submit a disavow file (with more than 5000 domains in it), but that was 3 months ago. It may or may not have had an effect on this recovery. I would say no and I would also say that they messed the August update, because, frankly, my website is not bad quality and I feel like I got deranked unfairly.

So, if you got nothing to lose (if you lost all your traffic), try submitting a disavow tool and clean your link profile of poor quality links.
Or just wait for another "broad core update" and try your luck.

Beg to differ on that! Do you build backlinks to your sites? If the answer is yes then you're involved in black/grey/white or whatever color you want to call it hat. Based on Google guidelines, any type of link building can be considered a violation. Google is now the LORD AND JURY of the SEO WORLD. THEY WANT YOU TO DO AS THEY SAY NOT AS THEY DO.

I got absolutely destroyed by this Florida 2 update fuck my life. Spent 2 years building this site and overnight I lost 75% of my rankings and traffic. I'm devastated.

The software I used for this no longer works and I wouldnt want to make them manually.

In terms of parasites, it'll have the CPA offer on them, instead of linking back to my money site.

My two sites that got hit in August are still getting rankings back. Feels nice!

This gotta be a fix for the medic update. A couple of sites I've been following that got hit, are not getting organic traffic back.

Dr. Axe is going up as well. Interesting!

What exactly is Florida 2 update? How we do differ the Florida 1 and Florida 2 algorithm

I guess it was spammy backlinks this whole time (sarc)...

Nice to see you recover, too. I think we've been similarly hit.

I see draxe climbing as well, competing against my rankings on some of the keywords.
However I noticed that for a few of my most profitable and competitive keywords (for which i keep a close eye all the time) basically only my site recovered back to top10 (the other 9 sites are basically the same as they appeared after August 1st). One more indication again that this is indeed a September 27th recovery and not the August 1st recovery.

Florida 2 update is a reverse of medic update. For me and lot of ppl.
