Google update again?!

bbhww-png.106815

A small tweak did it for me. It all started on july 25th. The site was almost dying having lost 1/4th of its traffic in. It immediately recovered after the changes were done and the traffic is at an all-time high now :)

Its good that you removed your fake review/rating plugin and noindex all attachment pages

Yeah, but your previous post were mocking as well and it was nothing to do with "eat out of peoples hand".

I've seen huge sites and small sites, newbies and veterans crashing because of this update. And there you are, mocking and making fun of people.

Don't get me wrong, two of my sites lost a lot of traffic - but that's life. So I am not offended by you. But I find it rather sad to see that someone has such bad self-esteem to actually go into a thread like this to boost his ego. That's why I asked if you are compensating for something, since you come as a person who has been bullied or lacks in certain parts of his life.

If you are a youth, then I apologize and understand. If you are an adult - fix up!
Do not tell me what to do. I won’t be fixing up, my life is going well and this isn’t an issue.

This has nothing to do with big sites dropping/small sites etc. It has all to do with users expecting the fruits of other peoples hard work. That is what I’m mocking.

They’ll sit her stractching their heads until a magic fix is posted on here, and when someone does find a fix and doesn’t share - people mock him.

But again, you do realise this is the internet and shouldn’t be taken too serious? Snowflake.

Still nothing.. Waiting to see the result for. Me
Thanks

Nah, people are describing their websites and theories.

Snowflake? That's the best you could come up with? You are a nerd with low self-esteem - do you really think you calling me a snowflake has any meaning? Rather it makes you even more sadder.

You can mock people who are losing money and call me names online. But in the real world I highly doubt you would have the balls to even say anything if someone skipped a queue before you.

P.S Fix up!

My advice? Wait.

Whenever Google releases some algorithm update, there will definitely be huge fluctuations on all rankings as Google's bots will re-evaluate websites. During this period, you could be ranking for 2nd, then 11th, then 1st, then 20th. etc (and I think that's the cause why some of you are ranking well, but traffic seems to have fallen. Because your website is jumping up and down in the SERPs). It is ongoing and will take a couple of days, if not, weeks for it to settle down. Imagine it as a secretary is filing papers into a cabinet... give it some time and the filing will be completed.

So have a glass!
Cheers !

There is no quick tweak fix. Maybe a tweak will fix some site or the other but I can can assure you there is no one size fixes all for this update. The update results are too varied in their disparity. Until a solid pattern emerges that is shown to statistically tie sites that have been hit together, then no bandaid will work IMO

What makes you all think I am obligated to share the trick? Especially when I may be having direct competitors in and outside the forum. I will still leave a hint here. For me, it worked with a simple trick. I tried my luck working on E-A-T of the website after the widespread speculation in forums that it is mostly about E-A-T. I also spied on my competitors to figure out what I was lacking despite having better links and content. So, I believe that it was primarily about Google’s ability to determine E-A-T for a website. Although I think the update was focused primarily on EAT, I believe Google is not stupid and has added several other minor ranking factors to the update and called it a broad core update to leave everyone confused. I may be wrong but this is something that has worked for me and may work for you as well.

Also, Privacy is more important than ever. After Google and Facebook faced heavy fines themselves for privacy complaints of breaking the European Union's new privacy law it is no surprise that google is going heavy on the users. I also believe Google is demoting sites that do not have a clear privacy policy. GDPR compliance may have become a ranking factor in their search results. If you are using google analytics and Adsense it is mandatory to have a privacy policy page and the Privacy Policy must provide notice of Your use of cookies that are used to collect data. You must disclose the use of Google Analytics, and how it collects and processes data. These are some of the observations I am able to make and making some of these changes may help you recover. It also may largely differ from niche to niche. For example, the health niche is an extremely sensitive niche where there it may be even harder to prove authority.

What can you do if you were hit?

1- Add a privacy policy page
2- Brag about credentials on the about page
3- Add a Blog section even if it is not required, Google loves it.
4- Press section is a huge plus
5- Have an author bio.

Thanks a lot.
So lets imagine we do that and also do some other on-site changes. Is it ok to go to Webmaster central and have them crawl the site again after the on-site changes? ANd once you made the changes, how quickly did it take to recover?

I usually do not prefer force indexing and let googlebot pick it naturally. BTW, It took less than 48 hours. It mostly depends on how frequently the googlebot crawls your site.

So once the bot crawled you do you think it instantly fixed you?

Of course. You are too scary bud, thanks for the advice!

Anyone of the peoples with web site issues have had an old domain that is properly redirected and maybe resurfaced after the update? check it in google search like site:YOURolddomain.com
I have one web site that has dropped others do play better than before. The websites case is in my opinion that somehow the old domain has been re-indexed and appears in main page and main site products category instead of the actually live domain. Just to think that if you click on the actual search findings you will get redirected to the proper live web page results. Anyway i have send google a help request about that and i am waiting to see...
Of course i have spend many many hours of a thorough investigation of multiple web site issues and any search console topics (not that it had many...).

I would be nice to hear your cases.

i guess google translate did not do a good job of translating your original word

ha why would he share it with you?
I'm not asking for a handout, of course I know he wouldn't share a specific useful strategy for beating this update. Its just weird that he would post a useless comment saying his "small tweak" worked magic and then not bother posting a shred of detail about what he did.

This is an SEO forum, we talk about things that are related to SEO. What if everyone just posted "holy shit, this worked and improved traffic by 20%".... and then didn't explain a general strategy at all? LOL.

Yes I agree. It's a forum where people share. I have learned so much off here reading other people's stories what worked for them. Luckily the person shared his tweak which I'm grateful for. Thank you for sharing.

Nothing was weird about that. And he didn’t post anything that hasn’t been shared before either.

You can learn all the general things from SEO here of course though.

Old site went from #4 to #14
New site went from #3 to #5
Both diversified and have the same PBN links.
Other sites are pretty much the same. Some ups and downs.

Couldn’t tell what the update is about.

Here is my SERP Update. Looks like everything is back to normal slowly. Well almost...lol

What I did?

Nothing...

I just waited out. Site has no author bio. I guess it's because of the niche. It's humor or gossip site. So there's no need of "Expertise" imo.
