I know and think I needed a focus reset!

I'm trying to avoid and just don't want to go off on a tangent/ plan following the wrong keywords and find in 3 - 6 months time I'm back where I started with a whole lot of wasted work. I'd rather spend a little time now learning and getting it right for the site I build to last longer interms of ranking, traffic and ultimately sales.

I understand that.

But the only way to know if a KW, a market/product, or even your site will perform is to get your stuff out there.

Everyone has their own guidelines when picking KWs. If you are completely new to SEO, go after low-competition phrases that are targeted.

The main point is to get as much content out there as fast possible, otherwise you will never know what works and what doesn't.

I can't tell you how many times I thought a KW looked good, but turned out to be pure crap and vice versa.

Numbers don't mean anything without the true data that you can only get through testing.

Look, George may have been making money off of his google sniper style sites in the past, but it's not his main source of income. He has always been building his list and making 90% of his money from the IM niche. He has about 5 or so different training and membership websites. He doesn't even touch his sniper sites anymore and doesn't need to - his list is huge and he has a lot of fun promoting other peoples products.

In regards to his groom speech site - I've researched it and it's clearly because his site is just that much better than the ones below him.

He also set this site up on July 3rd to be exact which was almost 4 months before GS released. Looking at his backlinks, he uses UAW, social bookmarking, and a few profiles to get a variety of different links to his root domain and pages. Keep in mind that Yahoo only shows some links and not all.

He also has the exact domain in the URL which always helps big time. Extra words added onto the domain is much harder to rank and requires much more effort from my experience, but still worth going after if the keyword is good and competition is low.

What ever course you take the main thing comes to finding the right keyword, Low competition with decent amount of search. If you can find these type of keywords you can do very well applying any methods, not only google sniper.
I have used George's techniques(google sniper) and am making some money. But to be frank Its becoming very very hard to find these golden keywords, especially on products by CB.
