If this does implement, there will be a tremendous cull of sites, and affiliate marketing will become much harder. There will after this be a lot less competition, but to stay on top is going to require a much closer tie to our sites than we must maintain now.

As backlinks continue to be devalued (its been going on for a few years now) some other metric has t become involved and I bet it will be social interaction and citations in social media that starts to carry weight. I also suspect that Google will take a good look at our UPSTREAM links to see if we are spamming link juice into the link chain in the tier 2 and 3 levels. If your site has a lot of these links, I would right now start a new site. If you have done that, I predict in three months that site will be useless, if not de-indexed.

There is going to be more emphasis in customer quality and this is going to deindex a lot of spun articles and their links. People who have excessive links will see their sites fall out of the top 1000 more than likely, and it may start happening in a month or so.

Interesting times ahead, but this one is going to be scary, because no one knows where the line is going to be drawn.

Stewart says sites that are using a significant amount of backlinks are going to be affected, especially if those links are from low-quality sites.

bounce rate on its own doesn't mean anything, just as you say. But you're assuming google is stupid and can't track whether they bounce and move on to the next search result. Let's say your #2 and not only do you have a high bounce rate, but they all go on to the next result, and many of them stop there. Clear indication who is more relevant or higher quality i'd say.
