Google’s SEO warning - Are you Ready for the next update?

I would love to learn some of the reverse SEO techniques I have seen being talked about here. Never really got into reverse SEO.

Sounds quite interesting actually. Would they work on bigger companies? Doubt it. But to knock those little competitors out, that would be pretty sneaky and sweet.

I have posted a thread in Bat Hat section regarding the reverse or negative SEO.... Read it, you will find it useful.

In the future there will be new form of search engine and g o o g l e will loose their market share, so we will not depend on g o o g l e anymore.

I agree, and I think Microsoft will be there to capitalize on it too.

I personally think Bing is better, and is gaining ground, slowly. The more Google stumbles, the more Bing will gain.

What according to me is social network will take the lead. Specially twitter...

Better be safe than sorry..

Its a good thing I made my backlinks from comments and forum posts with relevant keywords. :)

It's kind of unfair if you think about it for the people that have put all the hard work into learning SEO... I mean of course that doesn't mean you can make crap quality content... but if you've got decent quality content and you've put in the effort to learn and do SEO, you SHOULD rank higher.

I think Google is trying to screw us over and switch over to paid advertising with AdWords which would be complete bullshit. Imagine they completely remove the ranking factor of backlinks (sometime in the future) -- we'd all be pretty much f******.

Few days ago on one long tail keyword blogspot post (with amazon product) was on 1 position, before 5 Amazon links. And my page was on 15 position (I want to go higher).
Now that blogspot post is on 6 position and my link disappear from search... and I checked all over 400 links that google return...
My link is still in google (returned with as one of site: results) but it's not showed on keyword I targeting.
The only thing I did was 20 back-links from social bookmarking sites (biggest, delicious etc.)

Anyone who doubts negative SEO, I have already started a few campaigns and they work very well. I know many of you frown on this type of "SEO" but I am what Screwgle made me. They are forcing my hand.

If they didn't want that money stolen, they shouldn't have put it in the bank, roflmao.

Might just be google dance... wait because patience is the key.... to success

Yup I know Matt Cunts wants to make the bot to do a blowjob to all blackhatters ....

Since the last panda update and the death of BMR, my site's rankings increased in search. That means I'm doing the right thing. :)

So, don't spend your money paying for SEO experts who promise you thousands of low quality backlinks with the same boring anchor text, just try to provide an informative site, add some fresh and relevant content and be an active community member. Than, we'll see what happens.

We'll see your site at the bottom of Google results page.

The bottom line is that Google wants to pick the winners and losers on the Web, as opposed to being a vehicle for the Web that wants to be built. Not very "free market" of them, and why we'll see continuing legal trouble for Google. The truth will out.

On one hand, I feel for and understand Google's efforts to display "quality", "relevant results". The problem is the gigantically stupid ways they tend to go about it.

WTF is "over-optimization"?!? ...it's an oxymoron. SEOs are doing nothing other than showing Google bot what it implicitly wants to see, 99% of the time doing nothing that implicitly, and expressly goes against Google's TOS.

While Google must certainly keep proprietary secrets, the only logical purpose behind being so utterly vague about what actually constitutes acceptable SEO, "quality" and "relevance" is to maintain dictatorial control of how the Internet develops over time; and, to pass the buck to the very people that give them the Internet - website owners, SEOs and webmasters.

For me, there are two types of people in the world: Those who have no problem with Google "taking care" of everything as concerns search results; and, those that understand at an almost primal, gut level that the very notion of this is absurd, if not dangerous.

One other thing:

If the notice of unnatural links and subsequent drop in SERPs most people started getting in WMT around February 26 was not, for the most, some iteration of an 'over-optimization penalty', the cases I have personally seen and had the chance to analyze (now numbering just over 100) make absolutely no sense whatsoever.

The point being that Google would never announce such a penalty prior to an initial implementation for testing purposes.

So, once again, Matt earns his title as Captain B.S.

I sometimes wonder if he is not kept out of the actual loop of what is really going on at Google so that he comes off as genuine when he comes out for these derp derp PR sessions.

Whatever they do or whatever they have done..... Google Bot cannot beat the human mind... It is Google Vs BHW members and everyone knows who the hell is the BOSS..... ;)

Exactly, they will always be 2 steps behind us..

Another 50 updates roll out this April, you can check over Google official blog.
