Google releasing a large update today

Very strange indeed. In all my years of following SEO, I have never seen Google become this odd.
Things are still weird.
1. Indexing - strange, but now it works better than in mid-September. Google indexes 90-100% of new content (events), but in GSC I cannot send more than 10 requests per day - this is down from, I don't know, but surely was over 20 requests/day in September (never actually reached the quota).
My requests are only for refreshing data on already indexed urls - it seems to NOT work, as Google ignores the requests.
Also, looks like Google tries to keep up with the implemented Schema.
2. Ranking - slowly recovering. Sometimes I show up in top 10 for competitive terms, sometimes I am on page 4 for much lower keywords. For me, rankings are still highly volatile.
Competition ranking (higher authority) is more stable, but also seeing changes in top 5, which I can tell are somehow dramatic - like the absolute authority site losing the #1 spot on many keywords.
3. Usual Google bullshit - still Youtube, Pinterest, Facebook, Medium, Twitter and other totally unrelated authority sites ranking in the first 2 pages - with spammed content. Nothing changed here and probably nothing will change - looks like nobody cares about it. For me, this authority spam is the biggest killer for small sites trying to get more visibility the white hat way.

I can't believe it, after 3 months of blood sweat and tears I got the page back to position 3! ( it dropped from 1 all the way to 15).
Just to log back in today to see it dropped from 3 to 5 to 3 to 9.
I need to switch careers.
It's now obvious to even the blind that Google has a filter in place to de-rank certain sites. So no matter what you do, its always going to be a futile effort.
The best thing to do is just keep doing what you are doing irrespective of what Google thinks.

Yes, no doubt about this, I've experienced this situation many many times in the last years.
One day you wake up and your site is tanked.
No matter if you've not builded any backlinks, added new content, strictly followed its (useless) guidelines, haven't received any penalty in GSC.
You've been tanked and there is nothing you can do.
It's time to stop this nazi, dictatorial and discriminatory behavior.
Governments and antitrust have to act ASAP.
Move the nazi, dictatorial and discriminatory Google's behavior in a real life, in a real country, not in the "ephemeral" web, that company will be immediately investigated and closed.
I think they know they have a. indexing issues still.

Unfortunately, Governments don't think it's time to checkmate Google excesses.
Google have so much control over the web and in recent years they have become so irrational.
I don't give a dam about the bullshit Google guidelines, that's obviously for slowpokes. Do what you have to do. FB, Instagram Ads have become more profitable for me in recent months.

The AI is so dumb, my mushroom sites rank better than aged sites with lots of quality.

The EU has hit Google with €10+ billion in total spread over 3 separate fines and several years. So far as I know they are still in appeal, but Google had to make changes already. Unfortunately, they think up new scams faster than they fix the old ones and definitely faster than they pay the fines. But this latest, rejigging of the algo in May so totally breaks EU anti-trust rules it's rildiculous. There's at least another $5 billion fine coming for sure. Sooner or later they are going to have to start paying these down or quit the EU market for good. Their domination of search, smartphone os, and browser (amazingly) in the EU is unreal. There's no way they can afford to lose Europe as a market.

Google started showing results that are just put it simply crap. I was search for 'in-browser' vpn, just basically I could visit one website, and every result google gave was for services that you have to pay and install. No matter what search query I have used.
Switched to duckduckgo typed in same search query and got exactly what I was looking for. In the first result.

Major drops here.
Probably just the weekly (or daily) fluctuations. I doubt there has been any major update (and I doubt we'll see one this year). I do see major positive rank increases outside the US (and outside my main audience, of course).
