Google is going to change ranking algorithm. Doorway pages as their primary target!

Here is an explanation from Wikipedia, but nothing new:
Doorway pages are web pages that are created for spamdexing. This is for spamming the index of a search engine by inserting results for particular phrases with the purpose of sending visitors to a different page. They are also known as bridge pages, portal pages, jump pages, gateway pages, entry pages and by other names. Doorway pages that redirect visitors without their knowledge use some form of cloaking. This usually falls under Black Hat SEO.
There are many questions and information about doorway pages in their own Webmaster Central Help Forum, you can check it out.
Most likely niche based sites will be focused, like a review site for a product, and all links pointing out to the same buy page, like some guys already said.
Local sites will also be struct, though i also do not understand their explanation:
Having multiple domain names or pages targeted at specific regions or cities that funnel users to one page
I'm guessing an example of this would be Craiglist, but instead redirected towards a single page?
But, they won't be able to kill them all, like some of you said already before, since many of them use Adsence/Adwords, with campains that are worth many money.
Anyway, this will happen and there will be some struct businesses. There will be a storm.

i still don't understand why they obey and can not understand cloakings

don't obey the rules and fucking determine cloakings simple solution

I don't know i should say or not but its a good news for me, some of my competitor were ranking better than me with doorway pages but they all got hit by the update and now i am ranking first position for my main two keywords.

Lol... You do know that the update is not yet released ? This update will probably be implemented in a Panda update in the near future...

Maybe Im wrong but that what I understood...

Any word when the update should be on? this weekend maybe? they love to do the update over the weekends.

I've seen my first examples of doorway pages when I was looking for a competitive new niche. The website used a lot of pages for locally targeted searches. And when you landed on their site, their display was that the page was under development. My ass...

I have my solution ready for Google if (and it is a big IF) the update is going too hit me, you can read all about my method in my new $7- WSO LOL :D

This update may hit sites which usually has lot of local city pages and have same type of content on all the pages of site.

Doorway pages, bridge pages, thin content etc do not really seem like anything new with Google.

I also heard that in new Panda update, all links which are simple text (not hyperlinks) will start being counted as a backlinks, so the search will be improved considerably.

This sounds like they are going after sites who spit out thousands of localized pages - in other words, they create one page "template" that mentions a specific state and city in it intertwined with some generic copy about their industry, then use that template to generate thousands more variations, swapping out the state and city names. You can bulk up the total number of pages on a site very quickly, doing this with localized search queries, as well as the thousands of tail search queries related to your space.

The thing is though, couldn't webmasters argue they were creating these pages for use with their AdWords campaigns? AdWords lets you segment your campaigns by specific states and cities, and they encourage you to make your landing pages and ad copy as relevant to the keyword phrase as possible. So if you are bidding on the keyword "home theater equipment austin texas", you may ultimately want to have a landing page which specifically mentions Austin Texas. In other words, if I have thousands of keywords in my AdWords account, and I create a whole slew of specific landing pages to match up to those keywords - then Google is going to turn around and penalize me from an SEO standpoint for creating "doorway" pages?

This seems right.

big time shuffle going on right now, time to take the rest of the week off.
