Google Ditches Pagerank

Can anybody comment about this in relation to link wheels? I'd like to see comments from those who promote the creation link wheels as a key driver of getting on top of the SERP.

PR means nothing to me. I have sites ranking #1 in SERPS that are PR of 0 and 1.

jinx

if u people think u can rank high in pharmacy without high PR links u are all wrong.
niche is not = other niche. hard niches NEED high pr backlinks

I don't think google ever gave accurate up to date pr numbers anyway. Doesn't mean they aren't still using it in their ranking algorithm just that they aren't reporting it.

The chances are that whatever causes Google to rank a webpage with a high Page Rank now, will also go a long way towards making the same pages rank pretty highly in the new system too. So High PR links will still be useful to have even if the new ranking system is not so transparent.

I don't understand, hasn't the goal always been to get in the top 10 of the serps?
I've had domains that didn't even have a pr0 get #2 on page 1 for a phrase with some text a video and a link back from stumbleupon.

So while, yes, I've always thought PR was the shit. I knew that serp placement was worth more and ultimately the overall goal.
I follow only 2 major players out there. Jeff & Howie. Of which I've come to understand
they both leave some big fat juicy holes in what they deliver. Whatever.

But with some tweaking you can get placement akmost instantly and virtually for a long while without insane campaigning. Bookmarks are a thing of the past [face it] RSS has been flagged as bullshit thanks to us, & podcasts are next. Video is just so elusive that they [big G] can't use too many dials without fuckin up their own metrics for the day to day user, that and images.

But the places where the videos are hosted, now thats a different story. Those are already falling like flies and only the new and abused will be worth a damn as they climb in popularity. The old staples are useless for serp [well.. not entirely but it sounds nice]

So Themetic linking.. all those Angela links are so quickly shot to squat by us it useless to spend the hours getting her paltry submissions into my wheels. Unless maybe, they are themes to the niches I'm promoting or trying to get some weight for longevity.

But I digress, they know we know how to make it look organic.. and we do it in the millions so as soon as something here and the other several hundred BHSEO sites announce a loophole, we're quick to pounce and demolish the usefullness out of it.

Umm retract, WE, the ones that are willing to take action [massive action] and not bitch about whether or not its worth our time to utilize an activity or not, to begin with. frik that still sounds retarded.. I'ma tard anyways, so I'll leave it at that.

Get er indexed, get er in da serps, get er on page one, rinse and repeat.

I'm a big fan of the huge wheel theory & application. But if I can smoke DoriFriend or Howie anyday.. it just cooks my peaches to a delicious mouth watering treat.

And I didn't spend thousands to do it. [to learn it? thats another story, not bitchin tho]

We all know that our own PR has no influence on our rankings.

But what does this mean for linkbuilding? PR is a metric to measure the number and importance of links coming into a node (site).

If it's now meaningless to judge the value of linkbuilding targets by PR, then the entire theory of node importance and link-juice is dead wrong.

I'm just not ready to make that jump yet. I think Google is retracting PR data from publication to make life harder for link spammers, as they can no longer identify the juiciest targets.

I thought it was a decoy
Google want to stop selling links market and get focus on the content itself. :p
Just my 2 cents :D
