I agree, everything is going to be much more complicated so everything will become useless from what we know today. A day of changes on the Internet is like a month of changes in the real world.
 
PR is nothing for me lol. I got sites with PR0 still rank #1 in competitive keywords with only onpage seo + backlinks
 
Google has removed PR related stuff from webmaster central. I wonder when they will take the step to remove it from their toolbar.
 
google will build new sistem, from 0-100, co people can pay more for PR20 :D
 
Does this mean that links from high PR pages isn't any better now compared to links from PR n/a pages?
 
More like Google will still use some sort of ranking system, just that we won't be able to see it. That way we will have no idea which pages Google sees as 'authority' and which ones it doesn't.

That would change the game for comment spamming

Yeah, same here, within 2 days of having a new domain up I can have it at already indexed and PR 1.

As far as I am concerned, PR hasn't been a good metric for anyone EXCEPT webmasters for quite some time. In 2006-2007 I did a statistical analysis on 100 keywords ranging in popularity and there was not a direct correlation between PR and rank. The metric was just as scattered as a random metric that I used.
 
One of these days people will realize that the most important thing to rank for keywords is keyword related content and using keywords that are related to the main keyword you're trying to rank for. Backlinks are the last thing you'll need, and won't need at all in most niches if SEO'd right.
 
Unless you are selling backlinks to IM noobs, PageRank means absolutely nothing and does nothing to put money in the bank.
 
Hahaha to all the people spending their money to up PR and it now being flushed down Google's huge toilet.
 
Yeah, there is also the people selling high PR backlinks... they must be mad!!
 
I still believe that google gives more value to a backlink which is coming from high PR site.
