Hi everyone, hope you’re having a good weekend.

Yesterday, I activated my campaign around 3 pm (local time) using automatic bidding, and it worked really well until around 6 pm. Then, all the clicks and impressions stopped, and around 8 pm, the campaign status changed to “bid strategy learning.” I looked for a way to bypass this phase so I could continue getting traffic, even if it would be more expensive.

I changed my campaign’s bidding strategy to manual CPC and adjusted everything. The status of my campaign changed back to “eligible,” but it hasn’t received any clicks or impressions for hours.

I thought something might be broken, so I cloned my campaign and waited for it to be approved by Google Ads, then paused the old one. It has been about 1 hour, and the situation is still the same.

My account had previously passed a “suspicious payments account suspension” and a “compensated sexual acts temporary ad disapproval,” so I don’t think there is anything wrong with my account.

My keywords are kind of competitive, and I suspect my competitors could be taking actions to eliminate me. However, if that were the case, my account or campaign would have been suspended.

So, what should I do? I need to start getting clicks ASAP, and this is really important to me.

Why do you assume traffic should start in hours. In some cases for search campaigns you may not see any traffic start for even 48 hours, depends whether your domain and/or account is in review or not. During that time you should be making no other edits/updates on the account like you did with cloning the campaign. One word, patience.

I assume so because the traffic started in the first half hour yesterday and continued 3 hours around. Besides that, I've also been looking for the reason why my first campaign got broken in the first place.

Then in that case it means that either your domain or account has gone into review and you should not be adding or editing anything during the review time because you increase the chance of the account getting suspended for suspicious payments.

Would you mind me asking another question? What do you think about that, if I may ask?

"My keywords are kind of competitive, and I suspect my competitors could be taking actions to eliminate me. However, if that were the case, my account or campaign would have been suspended."

Is the review process your last thought or is it possible as well? If you think that the review is my case, how long does it take the most?

First of all, the review process has nothing to do with your competitors or what keywords you/they use. It is also irrelevant completely to the type of campaign you run.

Google flag accounts automatically, not even manually, based on a set of actions taken on the account that match prior abuse behavior on their neural network.

The review process may last 2 days and in some cases up to 5 days. Your best bet during that time is to just browse your account features like a normal human but making 0 edits or additions to your campaign. At the end of the review period traffic will resume normally or the account will get suspended for suspicious payments.

I just wondered if this review caused by a complaint by sent one of my competitors or something. I'm glad to hear that it's a normal process.

I'm new in Google Ads to be honest, so I didn't know how the review process worked.

Thank you so much for your replies, truly appreciated.

Click top Right hand corner Notification Box, and tell me if there is 2$ limit applied to your account. Voilà , wait for few days then or you ccan appeal .

Thank you for your reply.

It just says:

"Your account is unsuspended" (It still remains from the previous suspicious payments suspension)
"Protect your account from unauthorized activity" (It suggests me to set up two factor verification.)
