I just got scammed on Instagram for buying an account. I have opened a dispute on PayPal but what else Can I do. And does everyone want to know the username

If you didn't pay via Friends & Family you'll be fine. Otherwise lesson learned.
 
paypal should be able to fix it. how did you buy it? how did you get approached?

i dont think pp will give your money back if you said that you bought an social media account. PP buyer protection is for if you bought an item, such as something from ebay or stuff.

They recently added buyer protection to cover digital goods.
 
For digital/non-tangible products, PayPal almost always sides with the buyer in case of a dispute. The screenshots will be helpful in speeding up the dispute, but even without them it's unlikely you'll lose.

If you paid with a card, you can file a charge back with them
 
I believe that sadly you lost your money, unfortunately. The card payer may just retrieve your money if you somehow got hacked, but for most cases they will just open a case that won't end in your favour, also known as "there is nothing we can do", and you'll be charged nevertheless. Try saying that you got hacked and you don't have a clue why you're being charged, they are going to cancel your current card and give you a new one.
 
What option did you choose while filing a dispute?

If you have chosen unauthorized transaction, you increase your chances of winning the case.

If you have chosen something else, then you will most likely lose the case because it's an intangible item.

How did you pay? Paypal balance or credit card? If credit card chargeback with your bank, you will 100% get your money back. Good luck
