Stop Clickbait is an organization dedicated to reading through click-bait articles and summing them up in one sentence or less. It's most popular outlet for doing this is throughFacebook posts. Because they post the articles that they read through along with the summation, Stop Clickbait also gives direct links to hundreds of articles.

Stop Clickbait is divided into a main page and niche-specific pages:

Main: https://m.facebook.com/StopClickBaitOfficial/

Aww: https://m.facebook.com/SCBAww/

Entertainment: https://m.facebook.com/SCBEntertainment/

Funny: https://m.facebook.com/SCBFunny/

Gaming: https://m.facebook.com/SCBGaming/

Lifestyle: https://m.facebook.com/SCBLifestyle/

I know they're criticizing these sites, but it's amusing that they're also promoting them.

So...what are we supposed to do with the click-bait articles?

Looks more like another gimmick to me, hardly an "organization dedicated" to anything beyond trying to repackage the same old junk.

That's the thing though. They're really not promoting them. Almost everybody who follows Stop Clickbait will never click any of the links, just read the summary and move on.

This is why I unfollowed the subreddit. I always clicked anyway :D

Won't be seen as rehosted content?

Depends on how you "rewrite" the articles. If you just spin them you're basically plagiarizing and asking to be punished. If you use the articles as a jumping off point to craft a technically original article then you'll be safer. There's a lot of overlapping content out there.

Personally it's all a bit dicey to me, I just see it as a place to see what sort of articles are popular these days and maybe a warning about what can happen if readers think your content isn't worth reading.
